Yes they are and there are lots about. I wanted an EX for the leather seats and extras. The 3rd gen from 2007 is, IMO, a better shape and bigger than it's predecessor.
So this is a 2nd generation one?

I used to work for a company where the multi-millionaire chairman had very nice £140k Merc S65 AMG with every option... that he never used.

Went everywhere in a 100k+ miles 07 plate CRV.

I had a bit of a read up and see what you're all saying, these Hondas really have a great reputation! So I've got quite interested in it as a third car for the wife and I. So, I got a quote from the insurance, which was another £111.06 for the remaining 156 days of our multicar policy. Not too bad, but the tax is a surprising few quid too (thought it might be a low tax band for some reason?), but again, not the end of the world.

I told the wife about the car, thinking she'd be pleased as she often moans about the impracticality of our current two cars, but she is dead set against it! She said 5 cars will fill up our driveway and will be a pain when we have to shuffle them about and no where for guests to park etc blah. Annoyingly, she makes a good couple of points and has taken the wind out of my sails. I knew I should have just gone and got the thing and worried about her opinion later!

Our Mk3 CRV CDTi EX was comfy and unstoppable in the snow with chains on.
It was a bit disappointing on fuel and didn't have the power modern(ish) 2.2 TD should have.
Also, it had the most incredibly difficult starter motor to change out. I ended up cutting through the old one to get enough access to take it out. That was about 2 weeks after changing out the alternator, that was less of a nightmare but still not a nice job.

Speaking of which, for those who have one, there's a later alternator belt length and routing that puts less strain on the alternator pulley, as the pulley bearings tend to wear out prematurely with the old belt routing.

Honda Diary, Day 3

Took 2nd spawn to Tesco Express solely so I could play in the cockpit. Adjusted my seating position to maximum comfort (I can now see over the steering wheel  ) and got to know the satnav. I've tried using voice commands but the car is talking to me in French. I have got a problem with the windscreen washer jets, the rear isn't working though I can hear the pump so waiting for a warm enough day to give it all a clean and then get to know the windscreen wash system.

I found this. 4th gen aren't doing as well in this weather then <snigger>

Honda Diary, Day 6

Friday I took the car to Crawley and as it was nice to have a play on dry roads - it handles very well so there's a bit of fun to be had

The alarm kept going off yesterday evening but worked out that was the sensor on the boot catch - easily sorted.

Today cleared out the cupboard under the stairs and got to the tip early enough to connect my phone to the car which (I think) can only be done by talking to it, then off to the car wash where I realised I would need a ladder to reach the aerial so it's a good job that survived.

Found this on Facebook, you certainly get the miles out of them.1 million miles on one engine and one transmission.

Check your spare wheel well.
The Mk3 on CRVs seemed to have issues with the seam sealant failing at the rear of the wheel well (the very back of the car).
Rain is diverted, on purpose, past these seams and when the sealant fails it seeps into the wheel well.
Just needs fresh sealant slapped on the seams from the inside.

Thanks. I will do that.
