Heard a friend of mine was sitting in final vigil with her husband at the hospice. Cancer is a bastard. His BMW's, Triumphs and Ducati's will miss him, as will his wife and daughter. His wife, my friend, studied with me and was ordained two days after me.
I've had a beer.
Cancer is indeed a bastard. Hugs to you xxx

Early morning call from my old mum, her heating had packed up - no pressure in the boiler and a leak from bathroom towel rail, thats the problem!
Pinch a pair of valves from our ensuite and head over like a good son. Fit them without bothering to drain the system so I'm a little damp but mum now has heating

Last walk of the year.
I missed a few days due to...er..life,but annual mileage was 1444.72 miles and a couple of pairs of boots.
There have been years recently when I did less miles on the bike.

Been to feed the ducks.
The lakes were frozen over and it was funny watching the feathered bastards sliding all over the shop.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I've done a bit of sorting of stuff (wifi box now somewhere accessible if need to access it!) need to do more to sort one of the big shelves.
Had to dose myself with meds and use the hot pad early cos the physio did stuff that reacted this morning!! Had an earlier than normal physio today then met some friends for Vin Chaud on the snow front One couple are Cornish so I had a rather lush Cornish Pasty for tea
Looking at the forcast (and current weather) it wouldn't be safe or very nice to walk up the piste at midnight, so I'm gonna set an alarm for early tomorrow and go for a nice long walk in the morning to cheer in the new year at sunrise!! (Hopefully the cloud will have cleared enough by then to see the sun come up! )
But, have made some more friends - people with a chalet in the village below that are planning to live here for the seasons and travel in the interseason - nice to have more people to talk to

Bought oil & filter for the Accord. Had a slight struggle getting the ZRX onto the rear stand, thought I was gonna follow-through for a moment. Loud fart, pants clean & intact.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I was up really late as got hooked on the current (that I'm watching!) series of Shield!! So had a lie in.
Then tried a nice mug of coffee and decided to cook a 'recipe' amount of rice in the IP. Hasn't gone to plan So I've put it back in for a couple of mins. Only wanted to freeze it in portion sizes so I can fry it when I want it!! Should have just carried on as normal
Got to find some chicken in the freezer so I can make lemon chicken for tea!! With some of the rice

Re: What have you done today thread?
Took the ride of shame: failed MOT.
Rear brake pads, roughly the thickness of a Rizla. Fronts an advisory.
I have a memory of changing all the pads sat in the warm sunshine during lockdown so never even bothered looking at them, only a cursory look at the lights prior to taking it to the garage. Must have been the year before when I changed them. I think 2020 has messed with my head more than I thought it had...

Just done the online application for the residency permit/card for France. Been putting it off as I hate doing that sort of admin. But, hopefully they'll allow me to continue living here!!
Either that or I need the Irish Certificate of Foreign Birth to come through asap so I can get an Irish Passport!!
Either option will do!! LOL
