Discovered some body armor someone had shot to shit. Bullets didn't penetrate, but the deformation of the bullet stopping stuff would have basically pulped your rib cage
I'm still shooting low & left...Then changed the part of my finger pad that touched the trigger & rattled off some head shots.
Spent a few minutes with the rake...
it's a losing battle.

Just wait until you're hooning along at night & one of the fuckers hits your visor (you knew they could fly... right?)Count Steer wrote: Tue Jun 03, 2025 9:46 pm Reminds me. Walked passed a small shopfront today, in a town centre. The place was vacant but there was, oddly, a scooter of some sort in there.
More interestingly, right by the window, on the shop floor was a male stag beetle on its back struggling to right itself. It was hooge!![]()
Never seen one up close before. Unfortunately I couldn't get in to help it get feet side down.![]()

They stay right there. Sometimes people will clean up their own brass if they're shooting something spendy & want to reload it.

I blame him at least a bit
. I was reversing into a space and he opened his rear door (dunno why he was on the back seat) right Infront (behind?) of me.

Got new tires on the Explorer ST, then ran it through the local hand wash place to spiff it up. It's riding MUCH better, was getting a tad squirrely before.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Did a service line this morning, last time I did it I did the afternoon one (and hour or so longer) and by the end my arm was stupidly painful
. BUT, today, yes, I had a couple of 'grumps' from it but overall it's survived quite well
Didn't take lunch and had a couple of bits of fruit at the stops, so was pretty starving by the time I finished and had been dreaming of a roast chicken - only cos the girl that has the coffee/bar/bakery in the last village before the mountain road has started selling roast chicken at weekend !!! Then I realised that she closes earlyy-ish for 'lunch' !!
Awesomely she closes at 13:30, so I just got there in time
I've now got her number so that if I feel the need for a ridiculously expensive roast chicken, I can message her to keep me one (and stay open for a for mins longer if I'm running late !!! ). Such a lovely girl, need to have a go at baking in the oven in the place this weekend to see if I can do cakes to share !!!

Re: What have you done today thread?
Yup. She her main income is drinks and coffee; there's a bakery to the side of the cafe/bar that does take away sarnies, quiche etc (hot chicken on weekends !) . So, you can get to the place to buy what you need to take home to eat !!Skub wrote: Sat Jun 07, 2025 2:15 pmLemme see now. Worse though - the bakery in resort closes before 1pm - I mean seriously !!! A huge resort with tourists all over and the bakery that sells so much more than bread is not open for them all at lunchtime!! And I've been caught out a lot by that too
Not a practice I remotely understand in general, but seems very common !! ( I kind of understand Isobel cos she's a one person place and open as a bar in the evening, so she needs a break at some point !! but the actual bakery closing for lunch ? Weird !! )

Re: What have you done today thread?
Today I've been shocked to the core.
Out on the dirt bikes we sat outside our fave caff on far side of the island for our usual fish butties.
Irish lad on next table picked up we were English and started chatting.
Short version....
Turns out he's in a mess coz his 4 year old kid was stabbed 100 times by a crazy woman in London 18 months ago.
He's just found out that she won't stand trial as she's so distraught over the child death. He was in pieces.
Just when we thought it couldn't get any worse, it was his ex partner and boy's mother who did it.
Evel woman. Fark
And his ex has been ringing his new g/f who's now also freaking out.
I don't get all the news over but guess some of you might have seen this?

Spiffed the F350, including the engine bay which was looking a bit dusty.
