Wifey and her friend went to Decathlon today, I asked if she could get me socks. She wrote the size on her shopping list, I texted her the size, she phoned me from the shop when she was standing next to the socks to triple check the size, and bought the wrong size.

Spent a good deal of time in the kitchen, something I haven’t really enjoyed for a while, it has been perfunctory than a pleasure, hopefully this will see an improvement in that regard.

I’ve prepped a batch of seekh kebabs and tandoori masala sauce using recipes from Matt Cooper Bites spices website, I’ll cook up the kebabs tomorrow together with some tikka chicken. The sauce is already in the freezer, the kebabs will follow as will the chicken, I’m planning a curry night with the kids in the near future. I’ll be adding onion bhajis, tandoori lamb chops and sage paneer to the menu as well.

I then made Thai Pork Larb for dinner which I washed down with a dirty mojito.

Also managed to book a short break in three weeks’ time to the land of eternal sunshine and cheap beer!

It'd be the early evening one.

Sun shining, the sound of leather on willow, a bunch of chaps in whites on the green playing field, Concorde overhead....

.....cue soundtrack, a bit of Elgar maybe....

Same scene outside the Cricketers pub having a pint of Fullers ESB by Richmond Green, only Concorde would be somewhat lower/louder :)

The local scooter-boi club was having a charidymate run out today so I went along on the H1 to take the bad look off them for a while. They'd a good turn out and decent weather.

Went to the garage up in Centre to swap the Anchor thread boxes I picked up yesterday for the DMC ones I actually need !!!

Home to have coffee (got up early in practice for tomorrow !) and then set out for Doucy, a village below Valmorel where some friends live - I was requested to pick up croissants and bread en route

We sat and chatted for a few hours, awesome people who are sadly moving away (but sort of close to my friends in Correze) - sad cos they are awesome people but, like me, they are finding that there is not much community up high and prefer to find somewhere else rather than move to the valley

Anyway - Awesome views, they've got a new rescue dog that was way more well behaved than I'd expected and also had a gurtly big bird of prey hunting from up high

There is if you're family. The locals have been shagging each other for so long they're all cousins at best. Ever wonder why they look a bit odd?

Nice views though.

So bad !! LOL. Plenty of English in most resorts (some for new blood, some bring their own partners !!! ) but I don't fit in as have no family and am single (well, was ! and he doesn't live up here to be social so, might as well be !!) and I guess my mates have a similar issue as they've no kids - but in general a few of us that try and intergrate do try and avoid the brits :angelic-green: :angelic-green:

Was on Saturday so slightly late but better than what I did today. (Got taken shopping which involved being dragged into places like Shuh. My word, what poorly-made-overpriced-tat-with-trendy-labels-on).

So, Saturday it is then. Went back to school*. :D

It's actually Ardingly and I decided places like that are wasted on children. They should turn it into a retirement village with educational activities.

* not mine though.

Headed out to go kill some more paper & rocks. Pistol should be well behaved today after the recent fettle & proper cleaning/lubing (it wasn't feeding correctly at the indoor range a couple of weeks ago after about 80 rounds). Only taking 100 rounds today..

Walked the dog, printed the order of service for a wedding I am taking next weekend for a proof read. Took an interment of ashes service this morning, school assembly this afternoon and agreed to be interviewed for the Church Times. Have just cooked dinner, coconut/lemon chicken dish with chopped peppers and lovely basmati rice. Cooked the chicken with a glass of nice Sauvignon Blanc. Fragrant and nice. Have a Bible Study later this evening. Wife is out walking the dog at the moment.

Short dog walk as the boys are both getting over "limps". E-MTB before the rain, failed but managed to get home without getting too wet. Cleaned the inside conservatory windows and then watched something on Netflix.

Realised why my father put labels on all his boxes, drawers and tins in his workshop. Getting old means you fucking forget where you've put things when you're a hoarder...

You need to drop heavy hints that you need a dymo label maker for Father’s Day  :D

Successfully killed previously mentioned rocks & paper.... and a big fucking Stink Bug (beetle) at a range of about 4ft. Left a small trench where he'd been, not a trace of his carcass..

Discovered some body armor someone had shot to shit. Bullets didn't penetrate, but the deformation of the bullet stopping stuff would have basically pulped your rib cage

I'm still shooting low & left...Then changed the part of my finger pad that touched the trigger & rattled off some head shots.

Spent a few minutes with the rake...

it's a losing battle.

Ninja Beetle, faster than a speeding bullet. Better watch out, there's a Beetle out there with mad Kung Fu and a grudge against you.

Reminds me. Walked passed a small shopfront today, in a town centre. The place was vacant but there was, oddly, a scooter of some sort in there.

More interestingly, right by the window, on the shop floor was a male stag beetle on its back struggling to right itself. It was hooge!

Never seen one up close before. Unfortunately I couldn't get in to help it get feet side down. :(
