Re: WSBK: Scott Redding to BMW in 2022
I read an article earlier about Bautista going to Ducati and pushing Redding out.
Surely he can do better the Beemer?
The non-factory Ducati seems to go pretty well.

Blimey, me neither.
The beemer still seems to be lacking that something- maybe it is the riders but I'm not convinced it is, so I think it'll be a challenge for him
I would really have liked to see him on the R1 alongside Toprak...

Re: WSBK: Scott Redding to BMW in 2022
Bautista was shit hot (for half a year anyway) on the Ducati. He jumped ship to Honda. The Honda is crap. Ducati welcome him back with open arms. That leaves no bike for Redding at Ducati.
Redding jumps at the offer to ride a BMW, presumably because there's nothing better available.

That has to be the way of it.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 12:36 pm Bautista was shit hot (for half a year anyway) on the Ducati. He jumped ship to Honda. The Honda is crap. Ducati welcome him back with open arms. That leaves no bike for Redding at Ducati.

If Redding wants to be a championship contender, just right now the BMW isn't the bike. I'd have thought Redding would be a better contender for Ducati than Rinaldi, but there'll be contracts and sponsors and all sorts in there.

But remember this was before the rev limit was reduced down after the algorithms were worked out.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 12:36 pm Bautista was shit hot (for half a year anyway) on the Ducati.

I’m intrigued to where Sykes will go, back to BSB? He’d like to win another WSBK title though.

Re: WSBK: Scott Redding to BMW in 2022
I'm sure he would, but what could he win it on?
Not on a BMW, or Honda. He couldn't beat Rea on a Kawasaki, would Ducati or Yamaha give him a ride?

No idea, the reason for me saying that is to purely rule out hanging up the leathers.

Whitham said he can't see Sykes going back to BSB,but it looks possible BMW may field another bike for him next year. Tom still has pace on his day,as superpole today showed.Wull wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 1:05 pmNo idea, the reason for me saying that is to purely rule out hanging up the leathers.

Re: WSBK: Scott Redding to BMW in 2022
In other news, the BMW team has had a go at James Toseland for saying on Eurosport that the beemer isn't a championship winning bike.
They said Toseland could come and be the Team's piano player.
Maybe funny, maybe snide, but definitely unprofessional attitude from a works team.

Van der mark must’ve thought it was, or was it the 3x pay rise that bmw are paying him ? MmmSkub wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 1:13 pm In other news, the BMW team has had a go at James Toseland for saying on Eurosport that the beemer isn't a championship winning bike.

Re: WSBK: Scott Redding to BMW in 2022
BMW have painted themselves into a corner. They paid the big bucks for VDM and Tom Sykes is faster,so they get rid of the better performing rider and put themselves in the position of having to pay more big bucks for Scott Redding.
The silly season gets earlier every year.

It beggars belief but maybe there is some method in their madness. It’s funny listening to JT going on about it.

I had a laugh when Greg whatisface gave out JT's Twitter address and asked for opinions.

And confirmed this morning Alvaro Bautista back to Aruba Ducati for 2022.
