Re: Triumph release their eBike
The mudguards and lights put it into the ugly category.
Compare to the Canyon Roadlite:On which looks super cool IMO.

But you can ride it after dark, and your clothes won't get wet if you go through a puddle!
There's even a handy rack for carrying beer!

You'd need the beer to deal with all the pointing and laughing.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 12:40 pm But you can ride it after dark, and your clothes won't get wet if you go through a puddle!

The more I look at it, the worse it is. The suspension fork and large-ish tyres don't help. Clearly it's designed to be practical, something a district nurse would have used... Just needs a basket up front.

I'd rather buy a proper Triumph for that money. Sprint RS anyone? You can get a low mileage one for under £3k...

It reminds me of the Phillippe Starck styled Aprilia Moto 6.5 that nobody bought.

Re: Triumph release their eBike
I am trying it and to understand who this bike is going to appeal to. They have sort of aped their Roadster from the 50s / 60s ... but it is not a style that anyone really wants. They are not "core" enough to make a decent MTB , it's too rood oriented to be a Hybrid.
It cries out "Old Man" as a brand - which is not where Triumph are trying to go - assuming "cool retro" is where they are aiming at the moment.
I cannot see any Triumph rider toughing it with a barge pole - unless they are landed gentry over 75

WTAF? Mental. The entry-level Canyon is at least £500 cheaper, looks much better and isn't a try-hard.

I can see where they're going with it, its got marketing dept all over it. No one rides a standard anything in London (nowhere else matters).
Some bloke with loads of beard products will cut the mudguards down, remove the rack put a brown seat on it - sorted, 5 large to you.
