Two Spare Yamahas.
Fairly clear there'll be both Petronas Yams free next year.
And now that Toprak and GG have signed for WSBK again, the field is wide open.
With Dorna wanting a Brit rider, it's got me thinking.
Joke Dixon. Maybe needs to win a race or two.
Lowes. Had his chance.
McCrasher. Nah.
Skinner? Maybe a year too soon. Needs to win BSB .
Anybody else?

Re: Two Spare Yamahas.
Loads, but none will be British.
I'll say one will be Oliveira after they steal him from KTM, the next will be a young gun given a chance.

Re: Two Spare Yamahas.
They need a rider to be up their scoring good points to justify the sponsorship money, so yeah maybe bring in a Moto2 rider but for the points scoring rider I reckon they should go for Dovi.
Goes well on a Yamaha, has got a point to prove and has said it's not about the money.
Points in the bag.

Re: Two Spare Yamahas.
Raul Fernandez would be my best bet from Moto2, or if they really fancy taking a punt what about shifting Pedro Acosta straight from Moto3 just like Miller did. He will be 18 at the start of next season
Problem with both is the KTM contracts. If Jake Dixon can start scoring well in the next few races it wouldnt surprise me to see a 1 year "try out" contract just to keep a Brit in the top class as the team seem to like him and appear invested in him too with making team changes to try and unlock his potential.
Despite Lowes good results i dont see him getting a second chance after the Aprilia fiasco. McPhee will be lucky to stay in the paddock next year unless 2nd half of the season is full of wins and podiums

Re: Two Spare Yamahas.
Just seen reports that these 2 bikes will be 'B' spec jobbies.
The team are struggling for sponsorship and will be harder with lower spec bikes.
And they may not be able to attract the top riders . Morbidelli has publicly criticised the B spec bikes.
Yamaha are a strange company, but Lyn Jarvis seems a cool guy.

Re: Two Spare Yamahas.
They asked Hodgson that. He said it would be a huge pay cut to ride mid pack.

Re: Two Spare Yamahas.
If it's passports that matter most, then Dixon will probably get a shot, but I don't believe he'll do anything more with a Motogp bike than he's doing with a Moto2 bike.
Rea would cost Yamaha a lot of money and they would be taking a gamble.
If we weren't talking nationalities and sponsors,Toprak ought to be taking the place of Vinales.
But hey,it's all office politics now.

Re: Two Spare Yamahas.
Petronas reportedly pulling out of Moto GP sponsorship altogether which means SRT are abandoning Moto 2 and 3 altogether.
Possibly a move up to GP for Dixon and Binder.
