Tuono
Couple of weeks back a 2003 Tuono popped up on PB forum for sale, nice condition low miles (13k)and the owner known for looking after bikes. Also a nice price being well under £3k.
Knowing my love of mandlebars, v twins and great handling it’s surprising I’ve never owned one or indeed ridden one. I’m known for buying the occasional bike so I messaged him and said I’d pick up in a few days.
So it’s brown, very brown that’s that out the way.
But it has the electrical mods and is otherwise standard. Decent tyres even if the rear is a bit worn. It was a couple of days before I got to ride it though.
Engine was familiar as I’ve had a coupe of RSV’s. Quite tall geared but still likes to wheelie, shorter gearing ordered though. Handling though is absolutely superb, I’d stuck my leathers on for the ride and it’s the first time I’ve had my knee down for a long while on a few roundabouts. I need to get this on a Trackday at least once.
Anyway it’s brown

Re: Tuono
Mine was red and gold, but I may have had one in that scheme too.
Great bikes and a lovely noise!

Re: Tuono
If the GSXR had fallen through, the Gen 1 Tuono was next on my list.
You can't really see much brown when you're riding it.

Re: Tuono
Yeah,I like.
I had a ride on one during a dealer's open day a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was the model with the fancy wheels and Ohlins suspenders. I wasn't on the market for a bike at the time otherwise I may have bought one.
The only thing I could fault was the rear brake didn't work. I mean at all,not even a little bit,not even standing on it down a gravel drive.

I can’t make Pembrey but I do need to try on track as it must be superb fun, it’s wearing s22 as well so ready to go it’s also cheap so it can sit there and be used when I feel like it

Re: Tuono
I must admit I’m more concerned about the sorry state of the block paving than the bikes colour.

That was an eventful ownership period.
