Rambling update, in the last 6 months we've had all our mtb's stolen, moved house & bought a holiday let business.

Finally managed to find a bike I was happy to buy a month ago and started exploring the hills around our new pad.

A picture of my new bike and a view from up our local hill (takes an unfit bugger like me about 20 mins to ride up here)

For the first time in a long time I'm much more enthused about getting out on a mtb rather than motorbike.

Nice picture @twids , that looks majestic.

7.75 mile suffer fest today, usual dog route without the dog, 10.6mph av, 1000ft climbing, 156bpm av and 180 peak. I'm very tired.

It's North Wales, in the foot hills of Cadair Idris just above Barmouth / Fairbourne, it really is a very pretty place.

Winter levels of grip and plenty of Teflon death chalk.

Took my riding total to the 200 mile mark ..27 mile run along the Shipwrights way to Bordon the Hogmoor enclosure for a ride around the trails ( poorly signed and not very user friendly ..still ongoing works ) ..bike performed faultlessly all day ..

Out with legion yesterday at the Peak District again, 25 mile ride and just under 3000ft of climbing, endless rock hopping which made it quite a physical ride, just under 6hrs of riding time and an average speed of 4.3mph confirmed it lol, but the practice should come in handy for Snowdon at the end of the month.

Long distance spin on Mrs M’s Levo today, it’s as slippery as winter but with more brambles and stinging nettles.

I met my mate at Glyncorrwg on Saturday afternoon and rode whites level.

Probably not the best idea on the hottest day of the year so far, it's a centre that I've never been to before and it's a cracking ride. About 10 miles of singletrack with no respite from stone/rock at all making it a bit more of a physically difficult ride than I'm used to at fod.

Highlight of the day was passing a roadie in full lycra, including shoe covers, pushing his road bike along a very rocky singletrack, how tf he landed up there we had no idea.

I love a bit of Afan that's for sure. IMO one of the best riding places you can find.

Solo ride today as the Boy Blunder has picked up a limp charging round the garden chasing the fox.

Pleased I managed to almost hit my redline and got up to 181bpm.

some crazy fun coming up with the bikes...

Today is Swinley, as is Weds, that'll be the lads last day with Tom Reynolds as his coach (for now). We're then off to Silverstone/Pembrey and then follwing that on Monday with

https://www.adrenalinealley.co.uk/home/ ... BAQAvD_BwE

This is for him and his 2 mates, jumping and foam pit stuff ! Assuming they don't get injured, one of them will be trying a back-flip by the end of the day i bet. LOL.

Then a couple of days off, then we're off to 417 flyup.... then a few days later it's Bike Park Wales...

We've then got a week of no crazy and he's then off to Caersws for Welsh DH series which is his first try at full on DH racing.... that's the 11th and 12th Sept.... then 2 weeks until we're both off to Southern Enduro race at Milland. !

Admittedly not a very exciting one, but was a pic from a gentle one today... Just enjoying being out and cruising really rather than going bonkers and trying not to die !
