Tail bags.???

Anyone recommend anything.?

I've been using tank bags but the small 5L one i like is a bit small. The 15L one is a better size but doesn't look good on bike. Something around 15/20 L to strap to pillion seat. Top access and I prefer the rigid/semi rigid ones. My mate has an Held he might let go. Only for days out.

Any of the Kreiga tailpacks, you can add the supplementary bags on the side if you're going touring or whatever aswell

Personally I prefer Bagster tank cover and Tank bags -the bags have a bigger footprint on the tank top and also have expandable height.

The Multistrada lot love the Kriega bags as tailpacks ...... many prefer them to top boxes as they are smaller and look less out of place on the back of the more sporty Pikes Peak versions

Kreiga gear is excellent. I use a 30L US tail pack. 100% waterproof. The only slight disadvantage is it's a roll top closure that gets loaded lying down so really you need to remove it from the bike to get at the contents, but the hook and loop attachment systems is really quick and easy.

Also consider Enduristan Tornado stack packs. The smallest is 20L.

Legendary build quality, tough as hell, totally waterproof and laminated so it's waterproof on the outside and shakes dry. (Kreiga use liners, but tbf they don't get saturated the way cheap textile clothing does).

The Enduristan is a roll top as well but you load it with the opening across the top so you get full access to the contents without detaching it from the bike.

I'm also tempted by this one.


I ended up just sticking one of my origingal bags on the back of my Tuono with a sandwich, wind proof top and a bottle of water and then compressing it with a couple of Rok straps. I prefer tail packs to tank bags when I'm at the petrol pumps, but for me they do make it harder getting on and off the bike as I can't swing my right leg over the rear with the bag on and end up having to do a strange goose step holding my right out straight onto the seat and sliding it over.

Quite like the autokicker. Like the rigid bags and strapping under back seat. Just take it off for washing. I have 2 tank bags with the quick off thing, forgot proper name, so no probs with fuel fills but my bigger one 15L don't look too good and 5L too small a lot of the time.

With luggage on pillion seat, it's the king fu kick to get on and the left foot shuffle getting off.

I have one of these Autokicker Kriega rip-offs


Autokicker stopped selling them, maybe due to pressure from kriega, but seems Amazon have some but not sure if they are moody?? Mine is really good. It doesn't have the quick release straps but you could sort some. I use mine for weekends away for locks etc as I have a top box now.

Be careful with tailpacks. Wastegate (who some may remember) had a crash at 3-figure speeds on the IoM when his tailpack slipped round and jammed the back wheel of his Gixer. He held it for about 100 yards with a locked wheel until the tyre wore through and burst and it chucked him off.
