'Runny Face Colds'!!

Today is the first time in about 48 hours I've been able to look at a computer screen without my right eye running down my face! Which then sets off my nose too

This is usually a precursor to having a proper cold! Which I wish would just hurry TF up!!

Apparently, according to friends that saw me on Saturday, it could be 'allergies'?? But I really don't think so - I've never suffered from any kind of hayfever or other allergies and am so not up for that starting now!!

I have been taking an anti-histamine tablet each day over the weekend but not sure it's helped

Sitting here really hoping it goes away by this evening as have an hour long online french lesson followed by a Zoom chat with a group I joined. Could seriously do without my eye and nose running through two hours of video calls!!!

Mildly annoying is that I ordered a new VW Crafter in October last year. Delivery was initially delayed until March, then June, now I'm unlikely to see it before October this year. Parts supply problems most down to every motor manufacturer getting computer chips from a single factory which has gone up in smoke.

Currently frequently seeing an ad for some form of concentrated 'breakfast' 'drink' (presumably some form of blended porridge) that purports to be the 'Official' breakfast drink of Team GB (Athletics, or maybe Swimming - something like that)

It might explain why they never do terribly well....

It's just an excuse to put their logo front and centre during coverage and exclusively so. If you're the official whatever you get the sole 'spot' in the most prominent position.

It also means any merchandise that gets sold - which many people were gonna buy anyway - might have your logo on it.

Also means that your ad is always associated with the positive sporting type activity, rather than appearing between a news article about puppy murders and a movie about peado kitten stompers.

I joined a breakdown service yesterday and today got an email asking for a rating.

Er pressing a few keys to fill in a form was remarkably straightforward so 5 stars for that.

I started my latest French course at the local school back at the end of March. We had a break over the Easter holidays but only have four lessons to do to complete the level

But. We couldn’t start this four in April because one guy didn’t have childcare April. (Really struggling with this as he lives in a very English resort - even where I am all the parents help each other)

So we were told they’d sort lessons from mid May

Now received an email from the school saying that of the other three students, they are either going back to visit the uk or can’t get childcare

So, one guy dropped out after 3 lessons and the other two can’t commit to the last four because they have other stuff on/no childcare despite knowing when the plan was to restart the lessons


Yes I’m peeved. I get that people have other stuff going on but why commit to a course if you aren’t going to actually commit to it? And it then fucks up the timings for the last person who is hoping to get in the next course in June


The owner of the school isn’t a great people person/responder but I’m emailed a reply suggesting I take the last 12 hours in the equivalent time of private lessons so that I’m ready to start the next course up in June (if she can fit me on it - she ain’t a positive person when I talk to her, ever )

Builders that come round to look at quoting for a job after you've explained exactly what it is you want on the phone, look at the job and say it shouldn't be a problem, I'll pop the quote through the door next week and then text you two days later to say they're too busy to take the job on. FFS if you know your busy don't waste my time and yours and just tell me on the phone and I'll go elsewhere rather than waste my and your time coming round to quote for something that you don't want to do.

I struggle with lots of websites for that sort of reason - less the offers but within seconds of opening a website you get "what do you think of our site" boxes flashing up so you can't see what you went on there to look at. Then others with "sign up to our mailing list so we can keep you up to date on what offers we have". Firstly, I can't answer the first pop up box cos YOU HAVEN'T GIVEN ME TIME TO ACTUALLY LOOK AT THE SODDING SITE!! And, secondly - if I haven't had time to look at your site, HTF do I know if I want to be kept up dated??!!

Similar with FB pages - don't set the message box to pop up as soon as I see the page. I'm hoping to find out what I want from the page. If I can't, do you know what, there's a button that says "message" on it, so if I want to send a message, I can work out how!!!
