“With commentary from Steve Day and Matt Birt and pitlane reports by Simon Crafar.”

Hard to stick that trio.

BT Sport will continue to broadcast MotoGP through to 2024, but the series’ exposure to a mainstream audience has declined over the years since its move to a subscription service.

Most of the time it is free on YouTube a few hours after the races have finished. Some uploaders are very good giving a choice of commentators.

MotoGP has also confirmed the British GP at Silverstone at the end of August will also be shown live on ITV’s main channel, following in a similar vein to Formula 1 allowing Channel 4 to broadcast the Silverstone round live in the UK.

At present, only the Le Mans and Silverstone races will be shown live on ITV4 this year, with BT holding onto exclusive rights through to 2024.

Get yourself a VPN so you appear to be in Austria. Then go to Servustv.com and watch the OFFICIAL coverage free. All free, totally legal, and is on Friday Practice to through to Sunday races. Commentary in English by Matt Birt and Steve Day. but also with Simon Crafer.

Just how the fuck he got the gig amazes me, he doesn't seem to know what to ask any riders (always asks "Well, how did that go for you?"), and has the most monotone and dull voice. Great racer, but that where it ends.

Don't forget, servustv.com for every practice and qualifying session, race day warm up and races.

Last week’s MotoGP of Le Mans was the first time that British free-to-air TV showed a live race in seven years. So… how did it do?

Well, the Grand Prix was certainly a spectacular one and a good representation of the sport  for starters, as the first flag-to-flag race since Brno 2017 attracted over 400,000 viewers.

As reported by Motorsport Magazine, the exact figure was 425,000. These numbers are according to BARB from Overnights.tv.

The figure of 425,000 is impressive given it doubled what BT Sport’s coverage typically attracts which is 150,000 to 250,000 viewers per race.

Le Mans is not the only race that will be aired on ITV this season as the British Grand Prix at Silverstone has also been announced.
