Celebrity Experiences
What minor random interactions have you had with celebrities.
I've argued in the street with Boris Johnson about him riding his bicycle on the footpath on Gray's Inn Road in that there London
Seen Gok Wan buying KFC at services on the M1, I think I said excuse me to him as he was in the way of me collecting my own food.
Chatted with the bloke who played Arthur in East Ender's as we waited to be served in a mobile phone shop in Ipswich, I can't remember what we talked about, but I did avoid talking about his TV career because I thought that would be tedious for him.

Re: Celebrity Experiences
I once held a door open for Ian Rush.
I left Johnny Ball on hold for so long he hung up.
I got punched by that fat hairy bloke who did 5th gear and laughed in his face.

Had after gig drinks with Siouxsie and Budgie, by a weird series of events.
Clare Short handed me my bag from the overhead locker on a flight into Brum. She said "Is this yours", I said "thanks".
Toyah served us our order in the Rum Runner "Three poundth thixty"
Bumped, literally, into Pat Roach. I said "sorry", he looked pissed off. I didn't push it.
Friend of the fucking stars I am.

Re: Celebrity Experiences
Many, many, many years ago I helped set up the garden lighting and sound system for a party for Johnny Dumfries ( Lord) and his Mrs at the time he was racing in F1 and living in Norfolk. It appears he passed away a month ago. His then wife remarked to be careful putting lights under the trees as the kids liked shitting and pissing wherever the mood took them.
I nearly ran Neil Morrissey over twice in 10 mins which earned me a cheery wave. He was working on a production at Theatre Royal in Newcastle and spent too much time staring at my bike as I pulled out of the bike bay and just stood, rabbit in headlights, right in front of me, grinned, nodded and walked off. I rode around the block and look who walked out in front of me at the next set of lights

Re: Celebrity Experiences
'Born Again' trainee. I had no idea who she was until a month later. My only famous trainee.
Got glared at by one of the bruvvers from Eastenders on a pub in NW Lahndun. Bob from Blackadder was there too.
Bob Cryer from the Bill and ... someone ... from London's Burning at bike events.
Got glared at by Nigel Havers. Got glared at by the short wide guy off Doc Martin. Of course, glared at in a nice way. A nice, ok so you recognised me, now bog off, nice way.
I don't usually recognise celebs.

Not really random though, it's like me chatting to Terry Rymer and Steve Parrish because we've got an interest in FZ750s, and bizarrely being on nodding terms with Guy Martin, he nodded first btwYorick wrote: Fri Apr 30, 2021 7:05 pm Met about 20 motorcycling world champs. Few minor slebs but some absolute fucking giants in the Himalayan climbing world. IMO like.
People who actualy did things that I properly admire and I'm not easy blown away.
Not because I did anything of note, I just lived in the right place.

Three times in 35 years or so. Mr Mitchell was glaring at everyone.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: Fri Apr 30, 2021 7:00 pmYou seem to get glared at a lotHorse wrote: Fri Apr 30, 2021 6:59 pm Got glared at by one of the bruvvers from Eastenders on a pub in NW Lahndun.

With the other two it's probably because I'm so shocked to recognise them that I look again to check.
And I might have exaggerated Doc Martin man's reaction for comic effect.

Re: Celebrity Experiences
Met Mike Brewer of Wheeler Dealers fame at Le Mans outside Janines Bar and ended up getting pissed up with him, not a bad bloke to be fair....
Re: Celebrity Experiences
I've had a few encounters.
I'll drop feed them as they come to me.
Cheryl Cole. In her pink PJ's, hair in a ponytail, asking , whilst sat on the edge of her bed...
" Nobby, which way do you think we should!d have the bed"
Me thinking , it really doesn't matter , and visualizing grabbing the pony with my left hand.......

Re: Celebrity Experiences
Stepped in to help a lad called George who was having a spot of bother. He was a very good friend of a mate so it was the least I could do.
Now apparently, this lad George went on to be a bit of a celeb. Boy ,if only I knew.

Re: Celebrity Experiences
Spent New Year 1987 at Billy McNeills house getting pissed and slagging off Celtic ....he was the manager at the time
Got pissed with Brian Clough in a hotel bar in Majorca .... had me laughing my head off as he would shout at the youth team training on the nearby beach about their lack of effort as he downed another short or pint
Met assorted local bands as they had recording studio next to my first place of employment so used to bump into the likes of Deacon Blue and Altered Images and yes, Clare Grogan is tiny.
Did some filming with Ross Kemp on one of his "working with the plod" series...... He is also very small but seemed like a decent bloke and my entire team were pixelled out on the footage ...(probably for the best most would say
)
Met Mick Doohan and got him to sign my old Shoei helmet but didnt get it laquered before it got smeared.....gutted.
Chatted shit with Keith Flint at Snetterton when he was testing with his TTC 600 Supersport team. Superb bloke and so friendly

Re: Celebrity Experiences
I asked Vanessa (can't remember her surname) who later used to present a children's television programme out on a date. We worked in the same hotel at the time. She refused me.
That was a long time ago. 1984 at a guess.
