What do the bottom suspension linkages look like?

My NCX was immaculate, except for the linkages, no matter what I tried to clean them up with, they still looked like they'd come off the titanic. If I'd kept the bike I would have painted them.

Its definitely a bike that cleans up well and doesn't seem to sufffer from corrosion like other bikes, including Hondas, that I've had. its done almost 40k and looks more like its done 10k when washed? I was pretty amazed and pleased at how clean it when it was delivered! But, it is a year round commuter and if it gets covered in crap each time I ride it, then that goes with the territory and washing it wont be a weekly event.

Now the chain is more evenly running and with a more consistent adjustment, I've lost the annoying chain slap and drive/gear changes seems smoother? Organic brake pads are much better when just commuting for sure, much more bite with little heat in them. All in all a good couple of hours spannering .

Looks a bit like an old NSU Quickly. Had 2 or 3 of those in my teens, great for hooning around on with your mates at (reasonably) legal speeds. Flat out everywhere...

I'll be buggered if I can remember where the tank was. But then it was around 50 years ago... I know that the two-speeder I had was faster than the three speeder. And it made a lovely 'boinging' noise when you blipped the throttle... No baffles, obvs...

That the one! Mine was the same colours as yours, well, mixed with rust lol! I was of course thinking of my C90 with it tank under the seat!

Yep, it's a 1954 New Hudson. They were owned by BSA at the time and has a Villiers engine.

After selling my BSA Sunbeam I missed out on one at an auction but this came up and I had to have it. Oddly it also smells lovely haha

In the latest MCN there's a round up of their long term Africa Twin. It has rust on the frame from stone chips and under the paint around the headstock!! It then states this might be acceptable on an £11k bike (no it fucking wouldn't IMO ) but not so much on one that costs £21 bloody thousand pounds and has done 8k miles.

First Covid and now flagship Honda's rusting in less than a year. It is truly the end times

Finally got round to fitting the new chain today. I used the Sealey VS779 tool to do it with and was very pleased with the way the tools worked.

The spotlights on the bike are turning in giving it a boss eyed look and I wanted to adjust them, but its starts
D raining which turned to hailstones, so it’s all been abandoned for now!

No. I parked that project until its warmer. TBH, not even sure I'll bother with the fork valves now, as I'm kinda used to it as it is?

Nice shiny chain! Must admit I've not adjusted mine in near 6k miles now and was surprised as even Jim Aim said it was fine so seems I must be looking after it ok. It's the OE chain on a big single so suspected it might not last as long as some chains.
