I'd like too. They offer telephone appointments only, with a wait of about 10 days.

Or make an appointment, go see the Doc, collect a piece of paper, then walk to the chemist?MrLongbeard wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 5:38 pmThat's same amount of time it takes our lot to process an electronic repeat prescription.Cousin Jack wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 9:34 am Why, oh why does it take my surgery 7 working days to send a prescription to the pharmacy next door?
And they still need 7 working days to get their computer to send the data to the computer in the pharmacy next door! WTF?
But I've beat them at their own game, I just order my shit at least a week before I know I'll need it. that'll learn 'em

My GP surgery...
Practice Nurse - Make an appointment in three weeks to review meds and get your repeat prescription
Today
Me - Hi there, I’d like to book a telephone appointment to speak to the practice nurse to review my meds as requested
GP surgery - you want to do what?
Me - Hi there, I’d like to book a telephone appointment to speak to the practice nurse to review my meds as requested, she said to book it in after 3 weeks
GP surgery - you are already booked in for LFT appointment at the end of April
Me - That is a blood test and I’ll run out of the meds before then, so I need an appointment in the next week or so
GP surgery - sorry, you can’t book an appointment with the practice nurse (news to me because my last appointment was booked by the practice with her)
Me - <stunned silence / pregnant pause>
GP surgery after an awkward (forced by me) pause - she’s in tomorrow and appointments are on a booked on the day, first come first served basis from 8am
Me sarcastically- thanks for your help...
Otherwise, they are still shit as the constantly fail to add notes from my consultant to their notes and without a recent rant, wouldn’t prescribe the medication in an amount that would allow the consultant to increase dosage (as is needed and as per my notes) until they received his letter which they fail to scan to my notes... I’ve got a consultant appointment tomorrow so I guess the fun will start again there...

Some of us have to work for a living you know.
And sod that anyway, mixing with people, having Nurse Broomhilda insist on giving me a once over every time.
Besides they don't work like that, drops ins are turned away now, you have to go through the telephone triage malarkey.

I'm local too , and my current experience is very different.Cousin Jack wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 3:44 pmPoint taken, but the NHS locally IS crap, and my piss is boiling.Wossname wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 11:38 am ^^+1. Hmm...on that point : my P gets B when people slag off an entire organisation, when the problem /fault /inadequacy is 1 or 2 individuals who have "upset" them in some way. (Yes, I know - some things are important).
I'm "in" the NHS at the mo, and really can't fault the care I've had. Full stop. Read between the lines if you need to.

I don't wear make up very often and not much when I do. But one thing I wear sort of regularly is eye liner. To the point that I did learn to put it on left handed until I could use my right hand again
What's boiling my piss??
Well, I know it's been a few years since I've needed to buy another eye liner, and TBF I don't 'need' to, just wanted to make sure I could get it
The fukkers have only stopped producing it
I am unimpressed. I really like the colour, easy to put on and good smudgability!!! Fukkers

Me - Can I please speak to the practice nurse?
GPS - Is she expecting your call?
Me - Not particularly but she asked me to call her about how I was getting on with my change in meds and to arrange a repeat prescription
GPS - You need a triage appointment for that
Me - I called two days ago to make an appointment, to be told that it isn’t possible and to call on the days she was in to speak with her
GPS - She’s fully booked with appointments today...
Me - <says nothing as I can hear the faint sound of whirring cogs>
GPS - Can you do 8.45am tomorrow? I’m not supposed to open up tomorrow’s diary but I’ve made an exception...

Just been to a poncy new Smokehouse restaurant.
Ordered a portion of wings.
Guess how many?
Clue, less than 2
Won't be going back there.

Re: Insignificant/ Significant things that BYP or just wind you up a little
"Chicken Wing" just doesn't sound right. You need at least a pair, a complete set.
Tesco do 8 BBQs wings for 84p at their hot counter
Re: Insignificant/ Significant things that BYP or just wind you up a little
If it says 'wings' then surely you are entitled to expect more than one.
My gripe today is unnecessary apps. I've just seen an advert for Karcher pressure washers that have an app that appears to control the pressure. What's wrong with the twisting the lance (not a euphemism) system that has worked perfectly all these years until now? Now you want to change pressure to do delicate bits, you have to put the lance down, fumble your phone out, unlock it, fire up the app, adjust it, put your phone away and then pick up the lance to start spraying again. I can't think of a more unnecessary app than that.
