Small things that make you smile each day

Post by Couchy »

Having explained to the 6 year old daughter that her Disney holiday is cancelled she seemed to have understood... till she was tired at bedtime and we had tears and she blurted out ‘ I hate the Chinese they have ruined my holiday, who eats a bat anyway ?’ ......I had to smile

That special time of day, around 4 or 5 in the morning, still dark, a little chilly, everything is calm, everything at rest except the handful of birds starting their morning song.

sitting on something with 2 wheels. More often than not it's a cycle at the moment, but it has been the KTM too recently and potentially will be the KTM again today...

The other is my lad, he gives me these smiles and waves when he sees me... it's like having a puppy dog, you know the one that just loves seeing you for no reason at all, no pressure, just gets all excited...

Sitting with the wife and she smiles at something funny she is reading. Gives me joy to see her happy.

One who forgives an affront fosters friendship, but one who dwells on disputes will alienate a friend.

Watching a fox explore the top end of the garden. We've been here two and a half years and not seen hide nor hair of a fox until today.

Now know where to put the wildlife camera.

Spent years using metal scraper to apply filler to holes and cracks. Here with the heat and intense sun, we get lots of cracks in the render on the house and garden walls. Loads to do today. I found a plastic filler thingy with rubber edge and I tried that. Wow, it just makes everything so much easier and quicker. Applies perfectly first time with no farting about going over and over to make it right. Cool bananas :)

Friends and family who are living with life limiting diseases but who have a smile on their face and get on with their lives. They are truly inspirational and I love them all dearly for making me realise how lucky we are to be alive. :)

I received a letter today, an actual real letter, and being called a jolly chap by the sawbones that wrote it brought a genuine smile to my old grizzled fizzock.

I refuse to believe that he got my address mixed up with another of his patients that day
