2018 YAMAHA ABARTH XSR 900

Just getting peoples thoughts really. The bars are a bit weird but other than that, i'm a yes....
One of the lads had one on a trip to Cochem, it just looked 'wow' in many ways. One of the others had an MT09, i can safely say i barely glanced at it.

I think they look shit, local Yamaha dealer had one so I've seen one IRL, standard XSR looks better

Stock one for me too, spend the extra on good suspenders.
I don't like those 'bent ace-bars' at all,nor the two piper exhaust. De-catted the exhaust might look better,as it is it reminds me of twin sausages being squeezed out of the fat cat.
Come to think of it,I don't like anything they've done. Your bike looks a thousand times better.

I like it, but not seen one irl. Also possible comfort issues.

The riding position is challenging for sure. I never got a chance to ride my mates one but I did sit on it.

Do I recall a trip to Germany with your mate on the Abarth?
I thought it was crippling, or was it that he had to take a pillion when another bike died?

It's a long story but he didn't bring it back no.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 2:09 pm Do I recall a trip to Germany with your mate on the Abarth?

Re: 2018 YAMAHA ABARTH XSR 900
Should be a proper half fairing that hides the frame around the headstock. Some colour fairing tank and seat cowl and it would look half decent (or less bad anyway).
I think the naked one with higher bars looks better (like yours) and better again in the flesh.

I brought him back instead which was the second time I'd ever had a pillion. The first being when I took him to get the bike in the first place. It wasn't his fault so no prob.weeksy wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 2:33 pmIt's a long story but he didn't bring it back no.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 2:09 pm Do I recall a trip to Germany with your mate on the Abarth?

I think the XSR Abarth is good to look at but not practical enough for me to ever consider. He did Germany, however with a rucksack on and those bars it's no wonder he wore wrist supports. Def not for me.

Think the standard ones look better personally, plus that twin silencer thing looks a bit "Barry".

Has strange ergonomics.
Nearly every owner has ditched the bars.
I like the seat hump, and the fact it has a little plaque with it's own individual number, but that's it!
