That's one of the downsides of living the countryside village. We've not had take away of any description delivered for 10+ years now.

We do occasionally drive to get it, but i think that's been twice in the last year.
You need to move, somewhere like the Canary Islands? Yorick doesn't complain of such things
I'd move tomorrow. Mrs Weeksy is a no. Dunno if it would be the Canaries, more like Granada/Andalucia area for better MTBing. But currently the wife is a no.

In best STW tradition, is it not time for a new patio then?

After a 12hr night shift I'm waiting for the boiler "engineer" to turn up so he can look at our combi that is intermittently only doing luke warm hot water.

That's gutting. I think the worst thing about the virus situation is to not be able to be with family especially when they are ill :( Huge hugs to you and yours xx

Hope you passed!!

Sad that you are thinking of handing in your nursing card tho :(

We have seriously limited takeaway options up here. Pizza galore and recently a kebab option

The two things I found I REALLY missed were fish n chips and chinese takeaway.

There are a couple of places I can go to have decent fish n chips (not quite the same as takeaway but pretty good!)

But, I ended up learning to cook chinese takeaway - not proper actual Chinese, but takeaway. Which is flipping awesome. Much simpler than I expected and I've started trying more than my standard S&S Chicken balls and special (ish here) rice!! And the other things I'm trying are pretty good too!

Downside is that it's a bit of a trek to get to a shop that actually sells proper ingredients and delivery from the UK is expensive!! LOL But a friend goes there quite often so I sometimes put in an order for when he goes shopping!! :D

Well, today so far I've made a pear and almond flan/tart!! For the same chalet friends as I've made cakes this week.

I ended up with left over pastry and egg whites, so 'had' to go and get some lemons to make lemon curd and then little lemon meringue pies!! LOL (The little shop up here doesn't have lemon curd, so have to make some :?

Got to wait a bit as meeting a friend for a beer in a bit! Might be a 'this evening' job after the physio (if he isn't too brutal!!)

It's a friends 40th on Sunday, so I'm going to make a cake for her and will take the Lemon Meringue Pies and maybe some cupcakes along - looks like we're planning a 'not quite' party down by a lake (that's frozen over). Unlikely that we'll get the BBQs dug out and useable, but I think it'll be a nice little get together! Just got to keep my baking mojo going :D :D

My daughter and I are both working from home today. But we’re both watching a film instead! She just made me lunch, an egg and bacon roll and kept the egg runny! She masters my favourite brunch just as she is about to move out!! 🙄

Lots of stones from various places in Africa, across Europe, various volcanoes, including Etna, Mount Ranier and one from Japan (Fuji) I think. So we do have a good collection of memories in there. Also some fossils my son was interested in. Bigger ones do not fit in there though! Will have another display for those at some point.

Liberated a cabinet from the workshop that is being converted in a gents shower/changing room at work and put it in the shed at home.

Took the bread knife to pharmacy for a jab. She is Oxfordized now and I'll be checking for signs of pompous behaviour and stiff upper lip syndrome.

Mowed the front lawn after a second cup of coffee. Waiting for the rear lawn to dry out a bit more before I attempt mowing it. Might get my son to do that one. He can earn some pocket money and give my aching back a break.

Looked at the bike and thought, "nice, I want to go for a ride!", so I might do that later on if wife gets shopping trip done early enough.

A friend was going to the valley to shop and was kind enough to give me a lift (I haven't been down for nearly 3 weeks I think, so needed to stock up a bit!)

Did the supermarket shop - weirdly it was quieter today than normal. Just shows how many people are having to do changeover cleans, but a bonus for those of us trying to avoid people!! LOL

Then went to the market, mainly to see a friend that has a cake stall but we were a bit late. Did catch up with Jess and when I told Stuart that she was selling cream teas she mentioned that she still had one that hadn't sold. Sorted - I still owe him a beer, but he's got 2 scones, jam and some proper Rodda Clotted Cream!! :D :D (I also have scones and clotted cream! LOL)

Now home to chill for a bit then make a 40th birthday cake and maybe some cupcakes for tomorrow :D :D And watch the rugby of course!!
