Rode the bike today. I was really surprised at how much better it was to ride with a lower fork oil level and more air gap! Never played around with fork oil height before, but it's well worth doing! No wonder suspension gurus play around with it,.

Thinking of changing the pads as the single disc front brake is a bit lacking. I know lot of you rate SBS pads so i'll try them, but do I got for street excel or street sinter?

I cant believe how good a fit they are! I rode into London in the pissing rain recently and had practically bone dry gloves when I got there. Coupled with heated grips it makes fro a winning set up!
My SBS pads arrived on friday, but feck working outside on a bike in this weather!

The fork springs were returned and they've refunded me. So, I assume they agree they were the wrong ones?
I'd like to fit a yss fork kit with new valves etc, but its a real faff as you have to drill holes in the damper rods and I no longer have access to a bench drill. Think i'll bung the Cheb spacers in there to add some preload to the standard springs, which apparently helps, and leave it like that for now...

You ain't kidding it was cold! My hands were painfully frozen! Cleaned up really well though. I saw my chain was rusty and the reason being the TUTORO oil dispenser was bent out of the way so it was dripping its oil everywhere but where it should have been. D'oh!

I rode into London today. Temps were -1 but with the hand guards deflecting the wind and the heated grips on 50%, my hands were toasty warm! The Puig touring screen keeps the icy wind off my body too and the bargain £30 Spada boots kept my feet warm. The only part of me that was a bit chilly was my knees but i haven't got the winter liners in my trousers! So the only time I actually got cold was walking across the car park at work after i'd taken my lid and gloves off!

I tried to adjust one of the spotlights but just made it loose! I couldn't leave it flapping about so braved the not-too-cold weather and went out with my tools to tighten it. Easy job, so whilst I was there, I thought I'll see what condition the caliper is in as I have new SBS pads to go in when its warmer. Everything on the caliper undone as it should and all the bolts were nicely greased with copperslip. I took the almost new pads out, which I think were EBCHHs by the look of it? The pistons were shiny after one wipe with a cloth and moved freely. So, ten minutes later all was done back up with the new SBS pads fitted. It's so nice to work on a bike when all the serviceable bits you touch show signs of being treated properly.

Rode it a few miles with the SBS pads in. They are better than the EBC HHs for sure and heat up quicker, or work better without heat compared to theEBC HHs, but I still think OEM organic pads suit a commuter bike better. I think I have a OEM set lurking about, but as I've bought these, i'll stick with them.

Ordered the following.
K-Tech Fork Springs 9.0 N/mm. Dunno much about spring lengths and whether I can just make it up with spacer, as these are probably shorter than the oem ones, but if I can it'll be a result, if not they'll go into stock!

K-tech springs arrived today and as guessed they are shorter than the OEM ones. K-techs are 30cm free length and OEM 39cm. Am I right in thinking a longer spacer will be fine with this?

It occurred tome today, that whilst Craigs Honda serviced the bike before it came to me, there is no way of knowing if they changed the DCT filter when they did the oil change? So, I've ordered one up and will just change it anyway.
I was going to pull the fork springs today and drop the new ones in, but checked the tracking and found the preload adjusters have landed in the UK, so I may as well wait for them to arrive and do it all in one go.
As i had time on my hands I decided to wash it - again! Still impressed at how clean this is a for a 38k mile bike!
