I’ve been woodbutchering mostly.

I’ve finished the architraves, scribed, caped and mitred skirting boards, ripped and routed a decorative trim to finish off the pipe boxing. All ready for caulking and painting.

I also turned some architraves into crown moulding / coving by ripping a bevel cut along the length of the back, planting the off cut on the top edge with some fillet strip on the bottom and voila a moulding which matches the skirting and architrave that’ll cover the joint between the wall and ceiling.

Can the church get fined for breaking covid laws?
Not sure I'd want to be the person trying to tell 220 people to clear off.

Took the old 12 foot wooden field gate off it's mounts ( as in unscrewed three bolts on the top hinge and the spine bolt through the bottom hinge) ...swmbo'd wasn't strong enough to lift it with me...fair play she tried...got the new galvanised one on...misses the catch but thats a fix for another day. Bungies rule!
Also fixed a new floor in the new s/h log basket and got the castors mounted properly. Compared to many recent days...high achievements.....

That was the cemetery. Open space, no restrictions on movements, people standing in family bubbles.

To be honest, I would say skating on thin ice. All I am legally obliged to do there is the committal, the funeral directors are the ones in charge so carry the can. We did tell the family to check with them, but a lot of people just turned up!

At the Church we made sure only 30 came inside, that is the law, so we stuck to it.

2.30pm and not had a shower yet. Again!

(Weight class was at 9.15 this morning. Yeah, I'm whiffing up a bit funky)

On the plus side I did a video call with Barclays to get the Gremlinette a proper bank account. Was alright.

Finally got round to doing some of my more delicate knits washing done.

Took all the recycling out.

Cleaned up the kitchen, and baked a cake, which smellls lush and is busy cooling down on the rack, and yet it seems as if the entire day has disappeared already.

My physio made me cry again!! Who knew that the realisation that I might actually be able to get my hand to my head again so I can do actual hairstyles would be such an emotional thing?! I was actually really happy but also a bit sad. We worked out that the sad was that I've hated not being able to do my hair for the last three and a half years except in one main style :( :( Roll on more strength and I'll be able to do girly hair stuff again!!

Weirdly, this next made me just exceptionally happy - two days in a row I've been able to do my bra up at the back for the first time in around a year - bloody awesome and just made me grin a LOT :D :D :D

Last night it was, waiting 3 hours for boiler engineer to service the old boiler in the house I'm trying to sell. Shared ownership stuff adds on layers of "difficulty" in trying to sell. He found it was the filler loop not working and then proceeded to kill it. I'm heading there just now to see if the place is flooded or not. He did get the boiler working and so it is a warm house again, but now I have to wait and see if the boiler is over pressured or just knackered...

Visited the house this morning. Boiler is deaded. Not playing ball. Now getting quotes for replacement.

In a hurry?

Could you wait until Easter, get a builder to block it in then, after a couple of days it'll be ok for a bit longer ;)

Broke curfew to get home at 2 am - didn't get shot. :P

Had a one hour chat with my lad in the UK and now, just got home after breaking the curfew again. Didn't get shot but did get my covid vaccination shot organised for next Tuesday. I was going to do some work up at the boat but the above has thrown me a bit and it's also bloody cold so that work can wait till tomorrow and this afternoon I'll do some wood butchering in the house.

It's cold enough to light the soba (wood burner) and roast some chestnuts.

Not today but Tuesday, had my first jab. I had the AstraZeneca (sp) version. Spent the 2 days since with no go in me at all, very tired, sweating and high temperature at night, headache and muscles in my legs aching.
Today, much better, still tired but no more aches, done a few bits to make me get up and do stuff.
Mick, off for a snooze!!
