Have you had a look at Hitchcocks webshite yet?

You could just stick a pair of their pre-load adjuster fork tops on and pretend you've got posh forks :)

If you try to justify spending money on bikes, you'll never do anything. Much better to have a fuck it, can do attitude. You have the wherewithal, so get ordering!

Yep, there's a bike for all occasions these days and these 'alternative bikes' will always hussle their way into our garages. I'm a fan. 👍

Go for it I say- that has to be a fun and good basis for a project, plenty of scope to get your teeth into in lots of ways and make it "yours" - I'd personally probably struggle with justifying to myself the cost of some of the suspension components you linked to for it (have had a similar dilemma with my RC390 ), but the other side of the coin is they are quality and proper lovely and of course, as you say, the bike was low cost to start with relatively speaking, and if it gives you pleasure and you can afford it, it's irrelevant eh

Hope you keep it and go for it, could make an interesting thread

Do they do it at night as well like in southern Spain? I'm guessing it due to the heat, but struck me as better than in the UK where it's normal to find a bin lorry blocking a road for up to 10 mins causing all sorts of rush hour mayhem in the UK.

That bike looks great, I'm not after a race rep, but the suspension upgrades would make mine just the job.
I seem to recall Harris created the bike in the first place, same as the 535. RE got them to make the frame's etc. I think most of the test riders come from Triumph too so RE have done it properly.

One of my boy's friends Dad works for Harris as they are about 2 miles from my house. He's worked there since he left school, he said it's changed a lot now and he deals mainly in all the stock ordering etc from India.

I think both bikes look really good and that track bike is ace, but as you say you could take a lot from that bike without the faring etc.

In the towns there are the groups of bins at end of most roads and in built up areas. You have to take your rubbish and recycling there.
But out here in the suburbs, the council wagons visit every day, mid morning :)

Harris are owned by Eicher Motors Ltd... who also own Royal Enfield.

Yes meant to say RE own Harris now, or Eicher do.

Lester Harris used to drink in my local occasionally.

My mate's been off bikes since the early 2000s and is looking to get another bike this year. He first considered a RE and I really want him to do it, but he's now steering more towards something like a Street Triple, which I understand, but the RE's cooler.

And it goes well enough that that fella could probably beat me around somewhere like Oulton regardless of what I was riding.

I sometimes amaze myself with my good ideas, it looks like this Interceptor might end up being epic.
I assume it will also be reasonable in terms of costs - the engines have to be fairly simple - so if you are going the hot cams route etc ...
Suspension always seems to be over priced - but always make a huge difference ...

Looking good.

I was going to sell my V7, but reading this makes me want to mod it instead.
