Mini front and rear mud guards ordered, RRP front and ass saver big for the rear, now if there any good is another question, can't bring my self to put large hideous guards on there.
Also got my 1st local legend on Strava with only 4 goes of it

Re: 2021, riding mileage and updates
Did another 66km on the roads today, East London for a good part of it, sun was out and it was around 8/9 oC, best weather in a while, we went to a bike park/pump track and a cool little bakery in the east end and had a few cheeky croissants and Croqnut's (not a massive fan of cronuts though) ended with a few laps of regents park, smashed my PB around the 4.4km loop as well, took a 1 minute off my time, was battered after that though.

Re: 2021, riding mileage and updates
Got another 23km done today, light snow was falling but the road were clear, very very chilly, hands had enough by the time I got home, when to wash the bike afterwards but found the garden house has frozen solid

Re: 2021, riding mileage and updates
Zwift racing as usual here, there's not many days that pass in the recent times where i don't Zwift race or row at least once. But they are neither exciting nor arguably long enough rides.formula400 wrote: โTue Feb 09, 2021 6:02 pm Got another 23km done today, light snow was falling but the road were clear, very very chilly, hands had enough by the time I got home, when to wash the bike afterwards but found the garden house has frozen solid

After last nights trauma even the bike wasnโt very well and disgraced itself on the floor.

Re: 2021, riding mileage and updates
Oh that was proper chilly this morning... But i've been waiting for MONTHS for a ride where it's like that, no mud, just properly frozen fun.
Lost my gears on the 2nd half as they'd frozen... but other than that, it was LOVELY !!!!

Re: 2021, riding mileage and updates
got another 53km done, headed to St Albans, really good ride apart from one road that was 1/2km ice, was fun, today I wore ski gloves, they are great, can't believe I did not get them out sooner, it was also my mates birthday, and a mini Jagermeister was bought along (we don't have hip flasks) legs are done. time for a day off.
Did see some proper cool frozen tree/bushes, and come across a cool farm.

Re: 2021, riding mileage and updates
My lad wanted me to meet him after his riding today so i could escort him home, it's about 5 miles of roads, so currently we prefer him to have someone with him. Due to the G-160 being out of action i took the Liv Embolden E+. It's only a basic ebike in some ways, but 130mm travel both ends, Yamaha motor. It was, shall we say, enlightening. I did the 14 miles and at a higher pace than normal but didn't have a single drop of sweat. Going uphill it's just daft, ZOOOOOOOM instant and effortless power, just up the power mode a bit and it FLIES up the hill. Don't forget, this is restricted standard performance Ebike... just bananas to ride. Coming back we do 3 smallish hills, i just stuck my hand on my lads shoulder and shoved him up the hill in half the usual time, again, it's just crazy.
I can see potentially why Mrs Weeksy crashed it though as the on-off nature of the power at times would be very offputting when close to the limit, also when below the limit if in too high a power it's like a rocket ship taking off as the power comes in on a half pedal stroke, so if you're going left-right-left, it surges as you're setting your feet, unless you set them pedalling backwards maybe.
Despite the fact it was comically effortless to ride, i still have no desire at all to take one out again.

Re: 2021, riding mileage and updates
Lol, tarmac isnโt best as they do make it easy if you want them too. Off road itโs better to drag rear brake but keep pedalling to check speed at times, also keep cadence at 70-90 as this gives most torque and the drivetrain the easiest time. Ride like a normal bike and grind out the hills in tall gears and it destroys chains and cassettes. Thereโs a definate different way to ride them, they also carry massive speed downhill and roll a lot better. But you can choose whether to try hard or not which is the whole point of them. I like trying hard and getting the reward of speed

Re: 2021, riding mileage and updates
Managed to get out today as the ice and snow has gone and also had a lot of Achilles pain in the last 10 days in left heel. Thought I would test it today with a short 5 mile loop but felt ok so ended up doing 21 miles instead
Managed to get soaked but very enjoyable
