OE can sounds as good as the rest yes... but it's a bit ugly.

I'm talking about fitting a top box here I'm definitely function over form nowadays.
Despite that I gave the 690 a really good clean the other day and it looks pretty much as new. Not bad for 10.5k miles.

Superduke I presume?
I think my next bike will be 790 duke or 1090 Adv maybe XSR/Tracer. But all up in the air as not doing anything till I know we've got jobs. Must say not riding is boiling my balls at the minute esp with the weather. I need tyres and will need a valve check this year depending if we ever get out early enough. If I knew for sure about our jobs in the mood I'm in I'd be looking at these 790 deals very seriously.
I can tell I'm bored/itchy feet with the lockdown though I've been looking at 1500 quid ZX9s as cheap knock about bikes for bad weather.

I like that, looks really good. Presume double the cost though and more weight?

Don't like hi level stubbies, but always good to put your own touch on a bike.

Re: New bike day... Orange, of course, well... it had to be...
As much as I say about a 1290, I think we all know after a week it would be a mistake. I don't want, need, like masses of power.
But I do want at the moment a bit "more" of it than the 690. But also I want a bit of the increased stability of the 790. To say the 690 is a bit loose is an understatement. It's not uncontrollable loose, but it's a bit erratic at times out there.
The 790 suffers none of this, so is a good start point in ticking them boxes.
Will it stay, I don't know. But it has as good a chance as anything else on the market. I'm looking forward to it.

Imo...the 790 does tick plenty of boxes. Bag on the back and that's touring sorted. Looks good, light enough and goes well enough.
Even more box ticking would be the 890, bit pricey new though, but if one comes up for grabs in a year or two, have it.

Nopes. I need a logic for a purchase and 10bhp and some adjustable bits for £4000 ain't it. If there was an issue with handling on stock 790 then maybe, but they're very very good out the crate as you know.

Well, I may buy them just to see then.
Got a few 690 bits on eBay that should net me £600+ which will more than cover an exhaust

Enjoyed this clip from Pembrey of me on the 790 and Mrs Weeksy chasing me from about 8 mins in or some.
Was also reading my old 790 thread.
