Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Just living out here. Snow is kinda insignificant as it's winter! But damn it's gorgeous.
Watched the kids of some friends do the baby slope, using the "magic carpet" to get up to the top!
Then I sat in the sun and had a vin chaud and a panini whilst admiring the view And, it looks like a couple of the runs have been pisted, so might get the touring skis out tomorrow and have a little walk - gotta find my ski socks first!! LOL
Lesser spotted piste basher - we don't see many of these around nowadays!!

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
First spawn and spawn in law have found somewhere else up here to rent. The first place, having given them lots of yap about long term renting, two years no problem, no plans to sell etc, decided to tell them on Christmas eve that they are selling up.
TF they don't have to move in here.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Being able to get some new hair clippers.
Particularly as my old ones gave up the ghost halfway though Mrs. Gremlin giving me a trim up.
I sat there thinking they just didn't sound normal.....
Her: "They don't seem to be taking any hair off'
Me: "Put a closer guide on"
Her; "Nope, still nothing"
Me: "Go down one more"
Her: "FUCK!"
I had to laugh. I had a landing strip carved into the left side of my head. Nothing else to do but to try to carry on as best we could. Several sprays with silicon lube and we finally got me looking halfway between Phil Spector and an extra from Schindler's List.
The new clippers work fine, but there's not much material to work with at the moment.

Been there. Fetch out the disposable and shave your head. Mine currently looks terrible as I was testing a pair of clippers and couldn't bothered to make sure I don't all of my head, I'd done it properly a week beforehand. It's hat wearing whether ATM anyway.

We were given a s/h set of dog clippers during lockdown 1. Filly tested them on me before trusting them as safe enough to use on the dog

A bad spell of weather. I see what you did there.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Dyson. Background: we have a V8, about 4 years old. Took it off the charger to use it a few days ago, lasted about 5 secs and died. Put it on to charge again, seemingly properly; used it again - 5 secs again. Rang Dyson and talked through the problem - "You need a new rechargeable battery, £70 delivered". OK - it's 4 yo but a new one is £300+.
New battery arrived a couple of days later. Before I put it in, I thought I'd try the D again: absolutely fine, lasted for ages. And repeat - fine.
Rang Dyson - "Can I return this battery cos I don't seem to need it now?" "Can I put you on hold for a minute?"........"OK - you can keep the new battery, you may need it in the future. And we'll also refund you the £70 to your CC".
They really do seem to look after their customers. IM frequent E.

I killed ours, using it as a builder's Henry.
Sent it back for repair. "No charge, faulty motor." It was probably 4 years old.

It's been a bit cloudy and slightly cooler recently, so the beaches have been quiet.
But today was back to normal. Beaches busy again. On the beachfront walk today, there were lots of young ladies making up for lost time on their tan. I'll leave the rest up to your imaginations

Getting a text message from my dad
“Got jab booked for tomorrow afternoon”
I’m assuming this is his first COVID vaccine jab, if so, this means I might get to see him at some point in the future, 15 months has been a long time with a likely delay before we/he can visit...

Wife took her elderly mum, who has Alzheimer's, up to Guy's for her jab today. There was a lot of tears, confusion, shouting and general disorientation, but in the end my missus pulled herself together and got her mother in there.
All done, though her dad is still on the wait list and is refusing steadfastly to go up to London, even if driven.
