Held Jump pants

Post by KungFooBob »

I follow Held on Friendface (can't remember why) and they posted these 'pants' as a product of the year (2020).

https://shop.held.de/en/clothes/textile ... 000-00-1-S

They're unisex, with a stretchy waistband.

Is it just me who thinks they look a bit like jimmy jams?

Bit careless that they forgot to mention the protection level:

Protection
- certified under FprEN 17092, protective garments for motorcyclists

Suggests that they're only 'A' so suitable for 'urban' use and no more protective than a pair of denim jeans.

It mentioned 'soft' armour. Should armour be soft?

Probably gel armour. Nothing wrong with that.

I almost like them, but I'm not sure they'd offer that much protection over a air of £20 work trousers from Screwfix... but even then I still think they look like PJ's.

They say "EN 1621-1:2012" and forget to mention whether level 1 or 2.

When i lobbed the Multistrada my Dainese textiles were fitted with a mixture of hard and soft armour. The hard armour took all the impact and then the slide as well with some deep scrapes in the armour panels but no bruising or abrasion damage to my knees, forearm, elbow, shoulder and back where it was fitted and had impact damage and torn panels on the outer layer

The soft armour was fitted to my hips on the trousers and showed no impact damage or serious abrasion damage, bearing in mind the forearm and shoulder on the right went completely through the material ....this is what i ended up with ....apologies for nekkid ness and this was a day or 2 after the off, it got a lot more colourful and i struggled with walking for a few days :(

The new Bull'It summer bike jeans i have just bought had "hard" armour in the knees AND the hips ;)

Aye, I didn't really order any. Might have done if they were cheaper though. Hate bulky bike trousers with all the bulging armour etc. Necessary evil I suppose, but the main reason i never bother with it in warmer weather, whereas I might with these?
