How many of you still ride a motorbike?
Re: How many of you still ride a motorbike?
Managed just over 2000 miles during 2020 about a quarter of my normal riding.
Hope to get back to some sort of normality in spring but that depends on Covid I guess.

Yes, not many miles though. My bikes may look like knackers but at least one will be insured, taxed and tested.

Only a handful of times in 2020, maybe five or so. More mountain biking these days.

I do, i have three - no have that much mileage on them - and last years plans were totally fuck ( IOM Classic or Picos in Spain).
But i do tend to ride and MTB three plus times week ( but behind the curve at the moment until the shoulder works better) .
Will ride motorbikes more this year - but need a few things to go to...

Re: How many of you still ride a motorbike?
My enthusiasm for riding pretty much disappeared a couple of years back and I sold the bike I had in the garage as it sat not being used all through a lovely summer.
I realised I miss it not being there and started to feel the need to ride begin to return, then I saw my bike back up for sale!
I bought it back about two months ago - it has sat in the garage unused since due to the weather. I haven’t even started it up since I collected.
I do intend to ride a fair amount come spring and summer.

Absolutely. By Feb I'm (more) unbearable. Without road salt I wouldn't stop riding at all. But I hate washing bikes

Haha. I always sell my bike because I don't use it, try not to buy another, fail and buy another. Then don't use that either.Scud wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 6:58 pm My enthusiasm for riding pretty much disappeared a couple of years back and I sold the bike I had in the garage as it sat not being used all through a lovely summer.

Me too, I've ridden every year for 50 years this February. Lost count of the number of bikes and miles. Planning to just carry on as long as possible.

Re: How many of you still ride a motorbike?
Yes i still do. I've quit biking more times than ol' Blue eyes quit showbiz! But, I've always had something to commute on, mainly scooters as they are such excellent commuters. Trouble is I always miss bikes, so end up with a bike and a scoot. Had a bit of a eureka moment one night and realised I could combine the two if I bought a DCT bike, so I did! Not ridden it much though, but hope it'll do what I want it to do?

Still riding, not as many miles as I would like, but hey ho. I plan to ride as long as I am physically able to, and I reckon I have 10 years or so left.

Re: How many of you still ride a motorbike?
Since I stopped full time training my annual mileage dropped by 40k. Last year I did less than 3k but Covid forced me to cancel trips which contributed to this as well. I do miss riding out on a clear, crisp winters' day and enjoying the empty roads (albeit with a semi permanent dewdrop )

Re: How many of you still ride a motorbike?
Yes, when I can. Changed the bike at the beginning of March, just in time to be locked down, so couldn't get the 1st (600m) service done till July as the dealership closed. Done 3.5k miles since then, tho.
I'd hate to be without it.
I've got a Serow as well, but don't ride it much - I'd rather do off-roady stuff with company, just in case, and that needs organisation and compatible timetables.

Probably the least in 2020 since I started 30 years ago
- covids
- I'm not going out when it's cold or wet
- fell off the thing at walking pace in June and it really fecking hurt
I used to love the fair weather commuting

Re: How many of you still ride a motorbike?
Yes.
In 2020 i sold one bike and replaced it so only 2 bikes on the road but total mileage was about 3000 miles, no commuting ( I walk to work these days) so all for pleasure.
