Buy her an EV - instant heat.

"I was taught by my dad to use the gears to slow down because my VW Polo had terrible brakes". Been hearing that for 25 years.

I have gently commented that brakes are better now. Oh no, not hers.

Brake-gearchange-lurch (as clutch engaged without revs) ... and repeat, all through the box.

During the BSE problem, a tv new crew interviewed a woman leaving a supermarket, her trolley piled high with beef. "Are you not concerned?"

"I'm going to freeze it, then eat it when the panic is over."
On the BSE thing - was talking to my physio about blood tests and giving blood and I said I am not allowed to give blood here (despite having a useful group) because of the BSE thing. I did admit that I'm generally considered to be a mad cow, but that it isn't biological, just mental!! LOL LOL

I couldn't sit beside that. I'd have to get out and walk. Don't care how far it is...

In other ways she's actually very good, hazard perception, etc.

Plus, I've not been able to drive for six months
Plus, if Filly drives then I get to have sherry or two :)

There's another Filly driving tale :)

After we'd been going out a while, she put me on her car insurance. Then I had to pass a driving test. The feedback was "My car doesn't do 40 in third!" (Four speed box). Not helped by me pointing at the speedo and saying "Yes it does". :D

Packaging, more specifically the boxes that things like drills etc come in. You know that nice sturdy plastic box that has enough room for the drill, and a few drill bits, but getting the lead in the box is like wrestling a snake. Make the box and inch bigger FFS....

But worse then that, much much worse.. My mate has a chasing machine for chasing cables etc into walls. It's a fantastic piece of kit, makes a clean quick job of it. BUT...... you have to take the blades off before it fits back in it's box!! What sort of muppet thought that was a good idea?

On a similar note, Amazon packaging. I ordered 10 x M10 plastic bolt caps (black actually, thanks for asking). Now you can guess how small the little plastic bag was. Fit comfortably in the palm of your hand.

It came in a cardboard box about 18 inches long by 6 inches high and deep. :angry-cussingblack:

Did you not know? It's a variation on carbon offsetting - to offset the dirty air caused by the delivery van they ship you a lungful of clean air.

And again, on a similar note I bought a lightbulb from Amazon which said free delivery for Prime members. When it hadn't arrived in a couple of days I checked it and realised it was coming from Italy. A single lightbulb delivered to my door from Italy! There's something wrong with the world.

We used to have a regular French market in my local town, Bromley, selling all manner of cheeses, sausages, sweets, breads, etc. It was lush.

I always wondered if in some provincial town in France there was a reciprocal arrangement that involved some bloke shouting out in a thick south London accent, 'Three tea towels for a euro! Getcha tea towels, three for a euro!' to bemused French shoppers.

You 'orrible lot won't sympathise, but the fuse to the patio beer fridge blew.
It's 24c today and I've no cold beer.

I'll cope. Please don't feel sorry for me.

Pretty much my biggest regret with my apartment is the lack of a balcony - wouldn't need a freezer in the winter! LOL

Mind you - I've seen many a bottle/can that guests have put on chalet balconies 'pop' because it's too cold! LOL

This was in December. Doesn't this strengthen Amazon's position? Who paid the delivery of my lightbulb? It wasn't me and it wasn't the seller.

Oh. And cancer. One of my best pals dies today after 5 year battle.

We paid for them to come here last year and we gave them the best (final) holiday.

Heard earlier and been trying to kill pain with internet bollox and beer.

I'm sat by the pool with beer and fucking wish he could be here one more time.

RIP Brendan.

38 year old ex tank commander.
