By golly its been 2 hot hard hard days on the bike in FoD. My legs are dead.

Interesting to note, 65mm rise bars in this bike are a massive no no.

I'm too sodding old.

I'm back there tomorrow and Sunday lol

Out today and local again.

I've been thinking lately "this isn't quite as plush as i'd like" and riding that Levo SL the other day made me even more convinced.

So i'd dropped the pressure down to 80psi in the forks and it still today was using about 50% of the travel, even though i was popping off anything i could, nothing BIG but enough that i should be using a bit more travel.

Takes it apart to have a look at the spacers in there and just kept on pulling more !!!

5 of the buggers in there... WTF.. I'm not even sure Fox is supposed to have 5, i thought 4 may be the maximum. So i've dropped it down to 2 and we'll see how that goes.
Weirdly though i don't get the impression the previous owner was massive, but maybe he hit things really big... but then you wouldn't really own this bike if that was the case.

Fork Travel

Max Volume Spacers
170mm 1
160mm 2
150mm 3
140mm 4
130mm 5

So we're running 150mm and should be a max of 3.. he's lobbed 5 in there !!!

It's like you worked really hard to find a bike thats been serially abused..........😂
"Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"
"My dear Doctor, they're all true."
"Even the lies?"
"Especially the lies."

Well the thing is, the bike itself is pretty much perfect, but some 'things' were open to debate it seems. The bloke seems to have had some pretty bloody weird ideas with the shock setup he was running and now the fork setup... Strange strange people.

I'm looking forward to seeing how it works

After a LOT of experimenting some time ago, I found that 1 volume spacer is optimal for 150mm travel on a 36... Setup with around 20% sag you should just about be able to get full travel still with no compression damping wound on...

Remove 1 for 10mm more travel... Add 1 every 10mm less...

But yeah, 5 in there is crazy! Sadly not unusual though, as somehow the general public seem to have been mis-sold the idea that more volume spacers equals more plushness and a better ride!
