It's a bit warm.

The bike was showing 42c on the Pamplona ring road, up at 80mph it was only 38.

Just booked tomorrow night in La Seu d'Urgell.

Probably have morning coffee on Saturday in Andorra, just to say I've been.

About the only reason to visit is to tick it off on a list. It's basically a parasitic-microstate-duty free shop.

The only thing in Jaca is the star shaped fortress, it's closed right now, but there's a shit load of deer that live in the moat!

We stayed there a couple of days about 15 years ago.
The subframe broke on suzuki on the border and they sent bike home and gave us a hire car
For some reason we ended up there.

I also remember it being a heavy traffic/slow ride up to Andorra.

I spent a week in Andorra riding off road around the Spanish side. An excellent holiday but 25 years ago, it might have changed since then.

Oh the locality is nice and as RB said, the skiing can be good (I've not tried it), it's just the nature of it's government model/tax/ duty etc and the fact that the border crossings are little more than shopping zones - with, as Beany said, everyone from miles around piling in to get cheaper stuff - competing against all the businesses on the other side of the border. + a lot of the residents are expats just there to pickle themselves in cheap booze and smoke themselves to death.

IIRC they had a 'scam' going growing tobacco (!) once whereby they got agricultural subsidies to do it but once it was grown it was low quality and not the usual Virginia leaf that most cig manufacturers want - so they set fire to it - then planted more for more subsidies. 'Only a small part of Andorran tobacco production is used, about 20%; the rest is destroyed, either burned or crushed'.

This section of 260a is flipping amazeballs, the altitude makes it a little cooler too. You just have to watch out for mohos in the middle of the road.

Also try the N330 over Canfranc not the tunnel through it!

You can do a a nice day loop: Jaca --> N240 west to Sigues, then follow the A (NA) 137 through to france, where is becomes the D132... Follow to Arrett and pick up the D918 till it meets the N134 and then onto the N330 back to Jaca

Finished for the day, hotel in La Seu d'Urgell.

Followed the N260 all the way, with only a detour to take the 260a during the first leg.

Wow. Best biking day I've had for a long time. The roads are brilliant, mostly well surfaced and with very little other traffic and I didn't see one five-o.

Nadgery little mountain corners, super fast sweepers and the last 30km I was actually starting to wonder if the hairpins would ever end.

Up at 1720m it was a refreshing 28c, down in the valley 34c.

Now it's beer o'clock!
