Mrs Gremlin and I were enjoying this wonderfully healthy breakfast in Treviso last week. A conversation was struck up with an Italian couple in their 70s on the table next to us. With my feeble Italian I explained we were staying one night to see the town, which took them by surprise as it's not on the tourist trail.

Went to pay only to fund that they had paid our bill for us. How generous was that?!

Yep. :D

And, let me reassure you, they were bloody lovely cakes.

The one next to Mrs. Gremlin's elbow is a maritozzo, a light brioche bun with a hint of syrup soaked in and stuffed with whipped cream.

They know how to breakfast, the Italians.

Exactly 4 weeks in today. 12.7 kg lost which is just about 2 stone.
Abso-bloody-lutely awesome :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde: Well done you :) :) :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde:

I need to get onto doing that when I get back home. Gained weight in rehab :( :( (not two stone, 5kg, so 12 pounds? - but still bloody annoying having been the same weight for about 18 months - which is still over weight, but maintaining that was bloody brilliant with my history :) ).
Mostly a volume issue I think, food is not particularly good, but also I was trained at a young age to eat what I'm given :( Sadly I've been doing that and the volume is not at all what I eat at home, and also very different type of food so I spent a lot of weeks at the beginning feeling hungry every day :( :(
Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!! :bblonde:

Cruise control :obscene-birdiedoublered:

Never had it and/or used it before. Just done 233 miles in truck lane on motorway
Stuck it on true 90 KPH and sat back and giggled. Used the steering wheel control as throttle and brake :obscene-birdiedoublered:

Yeah, sorry I'm late to the party 🥳

Oh, the mighty Duster averaged 54 mpg pulling trailer :)

Yup. Double for a joint account too.

(I note that someone is trying to get on the board of Nationwide and the board recommend voting against - probably one of the 'stop being a Building Soc - be a bank' squad that did for others like the Halifax. I'd rather have my annual 'gift' and a branch on the local High Street. :D ).

It has rained here every day for ages and this morning was bright and sunny, but more rain was forecast for around midday. The grass really needed cutting, but it takes an hour and a half to two hours to get it done. I started, thinking I'll get one bit done at least, but the rain held off right until I was putting the gear away. This never happens to me. Usually the rain would be on just after I start the job.

I'll take these small wins every time.

You would have been even happier if you'd said "Sod the grass, I'm going out on the bike"

I did earlier, which was mainly the reason I thought I'd used up the day's dry time. :D

Would it help if I told you it's 32c here and too hot to do anything?

Forecast shows a cooling off over next 2 days. Thankfully.

Can't ride in this

Reading the daily markets briefing this morning it mentioned the 'Group of Severn' economies. Assuming a typo unless we're talking Cardiff, Newport, Weston-super-Mare, et al....

:D

(And I just had to point it out on a group chat to the author of said briefing :P )
