Re: Tourist Attractions
Lived in Shit City for 6 years when I was a courier, didn't do ANY tourist thing the entire time I was there.
Been in LA for 35 years, went to the Petersen museum once, spent longer in the gift shop than looking at the cars etc. Never been to Dismal Land & no intention of ever going. Went to the Long beach aquarium a few times with my kid when she was little. That's about it.
Rode all over Europe back in the day, can't recall doing anything even vaguely touristy.

However, i'm not a fan.Count Steer wrote: Wed Jun 10, 2026 5:07 pm For a rather random reason it occurred to me that I should go on the London Eye. Anyone done it?
I've been to more tourist attractions in cities that I haven't lived in than the ones I have![]()
Eiffel Tower? Got to be done etc.
I did go to the Tintin museum in Brussels (and the Musée des Beaux Arts but I don't really count galleries as tourist attractions) but not the Atomium. Saw the Manneken Pis statue too but only because I was walking past it. (It's very small).
What have you got on your 'been there, that' list?
What's been the best one?

Liked the London eye, have been twice. Once as dusk changed to evening with 2 other couples. The second time during the day with lots of people was a bit shit.Count Steer wrote: Wed Jun 10, 2026 5:07 pm For a rather random reason it occurred to me that I should go on the London Eye. Anyone done it?

Did the tour Eiffel a few times. During covid was brilliant as no queues and not busy. Same as many of the Paris attractions. If there are lots of people feel that you miss the point. The Louvre is good as most go and see the mona lisa so you can wander round in peace.
Persoanlly I think its who you are with. Been to some shite places, with people from here, and made some great memories.
Re: Tourist Attractions
Define touristy if you were enjoying the roads.ZRX61 wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2026 12:57 am Lived in Shit City for 6 years when I was a courier, didn't do ANY tourist thing the entire time I was there.
