Five gloves

Post by dern »

I've just had to move up a glove size to XL due to the constrictions in my L gloves causing the arthritis in my fingers to flare up and make riding extremely uncomfortable. I went to an actual shop (for realsies) and tried some on, and the ones I settled on were Five RFX3 Evo Gloves. They hold my wrists well, and there's some breath/expansion room for my finger joints.

However, I've never heard of five gloves, but before I wear them on the bike and then can't take them back... I haven't bought a shite glove brand, have I?

Thanks.

I hadn't heard of them either, but the online reviews seem mostly positive.

A French manufacturer,apparently.

I did look at these, I think I had an email from sports bike shop with them in a while back.

They look pretty good. I'm not sure why I didn't get a pair in the end, probably as I have loads of gloves already. I also really like to try gloves on before buying.

I may well buy a pair in the future though to try them out.

let us know your thoughts how you get on with them

I've had a pair of short summer gloves by Five for some years now. I'm perfectly happy with them and they've not fallen apart.

If they're CE, they should be ok.

And if not, they shouldn't be on sale.

I’ve got a pair of these, hated them for the first day or so, but love them now, proper comfy.

I used to have their equivalent in A* but fancied a change and saw a few racers had them, and at the time not many shops had them, pretty sure I had to order mine from
France.

Five is renowned for its CE level 2 gloves. While the RFX3 Evo gloves are level 1, Five is a premium brand.

Had they been a better fit for me, I’d have bought Five gloves. They felt higher quality than Dainese/Astars.

You did well to get the original RFX2 gloves, as the replacement RFX2 Evo gloves are significant downgrade:

Yeah I got the original, years ago
Never really wore them much at the start,
Have them on all the time now (apart from heated glove days😂😂😂😂)
