No Marc. Will Alex step up for the Marquez clan?

More Aprilia domination?

I'd reckon that was a home race special, unless Yamaha have really made a step.

Hard to see past the Aprilia's at the moment, which is great to see after years of Ducati domination. I though Bez was clear favourite after his season ending last year and the start of this, but Martin is looking a class act right now and has title fight experience.

Marc's season is done. Giannantonio is hot and cold and a ways behind already but there's a long way to go.

Be interesting to see what Marc does. I suspect it'll come down to just how much he wants to get 10 titles Vs listen to his body and retire.

The dynamic between Bez and Jorge will be interesting to see, especially if (as appears likely) they are the two main championship contenders. You can never really write Marc off when fit, but it all depends on how quickly he recovers from surgery. He won't heal as quickly in his early 30s compared to his early 20s, that's for sure. All it would take is another bad crash and retirement could come calling.

But I am really enjoying seeing 'Priller at the front. They embody the plucky little underdog that punches well above its weight. The fact that I own an Aprilia has nothing to do with this, of course... :D

A decent battle in the sprint race. Good to see the lack of grip giving the KTM riders a look in.

I'm definitely becoming a bit of a believer in Maximo Quiles. The kid just doesn't know how to lose.

But then I said very much the same thing about David Alonso two years ago, and now he seems to have completely forgotten how to win...

Can anyone tell me if/when there are highlights on UK tv? ITV used to show highlights but I can't remember which day :(

I was lucky enough to have a visitor today but he arrived at a crucial point and when he left I remembered, trying to watch, that Servus is back in Austrian if it's not live!! Would kinda like to rewatch all the happenings in English - even if it's a shortened version!!!!

Was a crazy day but pleased for Mir. Don't think he's ever had the proper recognition for being world champ.

Some serious need to look at the safety aspect of that track, especially the first corner. I wonder how invested Liberty are in that respect,or is it all about making money and the show?

Moving the Phillip Island event to a street circuit in Adelaide could be seen as another example of money making over safety.

The riders will vote with their feet if it's not safe.

The what???
Rules state the teams must keep the tyre pressure above 1.8 bar front and 1.68 bar rear for 60% of the race. Problems arise when the teams have to guess whether the rider will be out on his own,or behind other riders,as both affect pressure. If the race turns out not to run to their plan, then they can fall foul of the ruling.

Juan Mir,the Honda rider bagged a much earned podium, but was one of five riders to get a penalty. Mir copped a 16 second penalty.

Poor Zarco. Ligament damage can take ages to heal.

On Tuesday 19th May, Johann Zarco visited doctor Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet in Lyon, a world-renowned consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Centre Orthopédique Santy in Lyon, France, specializing in the management of knee ligament injuries and sports trauma, to further assess his physical condition.

Following a thorough examination, it is estimated that he will need to wait a couple of weeks before undergoing surgery for the damage to his ligaments, allowing the initial trauma and other injuries to his knee some time to heal before the procedure.

Following the surgery, a detailed recovery plan will be established, allowing the medical team to evaluate a possible timeline for his return.

The whole Castrol Honda LCR team is in close contact with Johann Zarco and will continue to provide updates as the date gets closer.
