Re: What have you done today thread?
I did a series on the leg press of 20kg with the busted leg
- I know, I know, it's not much, but seemed to be the limit for the busted knee today!
Then in the afternoon I got to walk with crutches
Yes, I did refuse originally because of the shoulder issues last time. But I'm walking with them at 50% (ok, possibly 40%) weight on the bad leg, so MUCH less on the shoulder than last time when I was using them 7 weeks with zero weight through the foot !! Then some very mini squats and going up to tiptoes
And after that, I had pool therapy this afternoon, attempting to do 50% weight walking, but the knee was a bit grumpy after everything else
Anyway - I was a bit worried that it would hurt a lot tonight, but actually, after treating with an ice pack it's ok. Yes a smidge grumpy, but not painful - so that is Excellent

Dropped the forks out of the big S

Had a bonus day off. It's raining enough for outside work to be cancelled and they've no indoor work for me.
So I've identified what I need to repair a cordless drill, ordered a new battery for a laptop and cleaned the drains under the sink, as well as some boring stuff.

Washed the monkey after its iom exertion. Had an absolute fantastic time. Anyone thinking about it, it's a monkey or a grom, 1 or 2 CTs.
One bloke on a monkey was 20 stone and going well. I'll be going again for sure.

On holiday in Kefalonia (nice place btw). Hired a VW Up, getting used to it now but it took a bit of doing.
Chucked the key into the centre console, oh it needs to go in the ignition. Gears to change, handbrake to let off manually and where’s the reversing camera?
I’ve only had my own car a year and forgotten how to drive old stuff already.

It's the same as the scooter boys, some don't get it or don't want to, but for those who do, it's a absolute blast with like minded silly buggers having a proper fun time.

Car failed it's MOT, I thought the rear tyres might get me an advisory, turns out there's cords showing on the bits I can't see.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I got hijacked!!

Had a bonus physio this morning - normally not for me anymore but I was over stressed yesterday so the Thursday physio put me in for a shared 30 mins session today (bank holiday) but actually, two didn't turn up and the other two were attached to machines and it was my early week physio running the session !!
So - did a bit of walking between the bars but also with the scales to check the weight I'm putting on the leg. Then a bit of walking with crutches - its not so bad today as Weds, as in less discomfort/pain until I stopped and had a break and restarted!!
Anyway on to the hijack - planned a little roll outside to look at the snowy mountains in the distance and have some outside peace and quiet. Got out and saw a fellow inmate who promptly decided I needed a tour; he pushed me around the path, chatting to various people we saw !! Sort of could have said no but didn't want to be rude!! Cue about 30 mins of being pushed around the building with almost non stop commentary
He was happy as it's easier for him to walk pushing a wheelchair than with a stick - BUT, when he headed up the slope he didn't realise I weigh a lot more than he though!!

Anyway, when we got back I escaped because I said I needed to call my brother!!
Kinda good but it feels odd that saying I'd rather not be pushed around the car park feels rude!!

Re: What have you done today thread?
Usual School Eucharist at 9am. Was warned to look out for a child that bites, but he did not do a runner and try to disrupt the service, so that was a relief (a brother of one of the students in the school). Then home to sort the gardener out in doing some work for us. Need to draw a map for him to do some work at the other church. Then doing more admin work. Line dancing group meeting to show them how the sound equipment we have works. Should be simple (famous last words).
Lunch with fellow clergy this afternoon. Looking forward to a catchup and chat.
Also have a wedding meeting tonight, so Harry and partner booking for next years wedding! Exciting that people are turning back to church weddings (which are actually inexpensive!). Usual other stuff I'll do in the day, pastoral and more.

After some confusion, they ordered the wrong tyres.KungFooBob wrote: Fri May 08, 2026 10:05 am Car failed it's MOT, I thought the rear tyres might get me an advisory, turns out there's cords showing on the bits I can't see.
Oops.
It's a staggered setup and the rears are wider than the fronts.
It's also come to light the fitted rears are 255/45 R19, they should be 255/40 R19's.
I bought it as an approved used BMW from a big franchised dealer... Who let it out with the wrong tyres on.
Yeah I know it's only the sidewall depth, but still you'd think they'd know which tyres were right for the car.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Finally took my camper for an MOT and it passed with flying colours!
Booked the week after next off and will have a few days away if the weathers okay.
