San Miguel's decent enough, not a lot of choice tbh. It's steak night. 🤔

Back home in one piece. Great day had, didn't sleep very well though. My 7 miles ride from hotel to circuit was bloody freezing but the sun was coming and turned out to be a glorious day.

Brilliant steak pie in cafe at lunch, chips and veg. Yum. Not many incidents so plenty of track time. Talking to a father and son duo who had driven up from Weymouth, leaving at 3.30am, full day on track then driving home, fair play.

My first time here and a great track it is. My favourite sections would definitely be Gerards, especially the entry and it does tighten up a bit, as i found early on 😬 and the Esses run up to the big braking hairpin, my favourite passing place. 👍

Took my little tent again, very handy for dumping all my stuff. All in all, a great fun day had for £135. 👍

Nearly forgot, they let you out now at 3 and 4pm on the hour, for those wanting to leave early, I went at 4.

I loved Mallory, great little circuit and easy to learn (no extra chicane on the back straight when I was racing).

If you were on the pace then Gerrard's was one of the scariest and exciting corners in the country, perfect for Ducatis with their fast, stable corner speed. The Bus Stop could be a PITA but a necessary one. I never high-sided at Devil's Elbow but witnessed some horrible crashes there.

First raced there with CRMC on a 250 and final time was with BoTT. I did a small number of outings in the Piglet 883 series too - they were dreadful but quite fun in an odd way.

I remember one open practise Wednesday. I was there running in an engine and someone in the paddock was looking for a passenger for his F2 sidecar outfit. I can't remember why he needed someone but, very stupidly, I volunteered. I was young and thought that I didn't scare that easily........ Feck! I nearly filled my leathers several times in the 30 or so laps we did. It was a left-hand drive outfit and so I had to keep it on all three wheels around Gerrards. The bloke said he'd been fairly easy on me, and I believed him, but bloody hell it frightened me! I'm glad I did it though.

Happy memories of a great little track.
