Given that it's been proper whacked and I've had to ham-fistedly swap out salvage bits and bobs it's wonder it's still road legal.

Came back with a couple of advisories, which I think translates as 'Dad's to-do list'...

Not really insignificant to either of us I think! But, having a mate willing to go to the biohazard that is my fridge after I've not been there for about 5 weeks and take out the worst of the grot! (And totally not insignificant for him to drive the other way to do stuff for me, then detour to drop stuff off for me on the way somewhere else!)

Scary thing is the last of the bought/processed sliced bread still isn't mouldy!! I do only buy it in an emergency, well, when I've not made bread and so need to buy for the weekend sarnies, but damn, it's scary how it doesn't go off in so long!! - five weeks and three days I've been here, probably bought the bread about four or five days before I fell!!!

And being willing to trawl around a mad and definitely untidy bird's house to find stuff!! Most of which I knew where it was, sadly the thing I really wanted I can't remember where I stashed it and so that has to wait until I get back for a visit (it's only a tens machine but I can't for the life of me remember where I put it )

But, totally awesome to have mates like this. @Jody - you ROCK. Thank you

One of the things I wanted was the folder with all my shoulder info (I knew exactly where that was!) - original operation notes translated to French, second op notes and all the first rehab notes (and I think the second rehab notes might be in there that confirm some of the metal moved last time I used crutches!) - which should help the docs, physios and occupational therapists here have a bit more understanding of my fear of things like crutches and any weight-bearing-on-arms exercises !!

And, weirdly - some 2kg weights to keep in my room so I can do some of the arm physio exercises in my room as I really don't do a lot outside the couple or three hours of therapy in a day Have non weight bearing exercises for my legs, but needed some weights to make the arm ones better!! Forgot about the elastic thingy, but think one of the physios will give me one of those!!!


So, not really insignificant (the other stuff is probably less significant but will make things better here) but very very much appreciated that a friend is willing to do that for me

Me and the hound went for a run in the local woods this morning. Sun was shining and at various points I found myself in a sea of bluebells.

It's coming up for three years since I swapped my UK license for a Spanish one so I'll get another two points for good behavior. Another three years after that and I get an extra point to take me to fifteen (provided I don't lose any in the meantime).

Ooh. Didn't know that. Woohoo

Another thing. Say you get a 3 point deduction for being naughty
They stay off for 3 years.
But if you're a good boy for 2 years you get them back after 2 years.

My license was three years old yesterday, two extra points today.

And that the auto renew quote was low enough for it to not be worth my while to run around the comparison websites.

Bidet* wasn't working - replacement motor fitted.

Passenger window not fully opening - door mirror cable was catching due to a broken fastener. Rerouted it.

Passenger door wouldn't open from the outside intermittently - I suspect the cable connector wasn't fully engaged. Seems to be working ok now.

Repositioned the windscreen jets, which resembled one of those fire-fighting tugs that welcome cruise liners into port when operated - Audi don't make things simple. Usually a needle borrowed from the sewing kit and Bob's yer uncle. Not with Audi: the jets are recessed so far down the bonnet you can't reach, so bonnet up, disconnect the entire assembly, get busy with the needle, whilst trying to estimate trajectory, put it back, close bonnet fully (washers don't work otherwise) and see where the one jet you're working on lands. Repeat ad infinitum for the other five jets with much swearing.

Top up fluids and tyres.

Give it a damned good jet wash before it heads back up north for another period of neglect and abuse.

Done.

In one of Filly's cars, the washer pipe went along the headlining.

Became disconnected.

No water on the rear screen, very blue headlining.

Warranty fix

Audi, who do not like to make things simple, which I may have mentioned once or twice , decided, in their wisdom, that it is better to have a rear wash jet that faces up. Hence it gets clogged easily. Wen it does, it has a tendency to leak out all over the motor, which leads to it failing and also dripping everywhere in the boot.

What I did discover is that if you leave the little push-on get nozzle off it squirts fluid in a decent jet about 10 foot behind the car. Could have been a laugh to leave it off.

On Friday I met one of the ladies that I do spazzy sports with (but on Thursdays!) and we had a little chat. She is always kind but I was still having a bad week and someone being kind was hard not to cry! And because she is having the equivalent to out patient treatment now, so not an inmate and able to shop, and when she realised how long I expected to be here she asked if I needed anything. So I said I do need shampoo, just the cheapest supermarket version!!

Nooooo, she said, I have a contact, I'll bring you some lovely shampoo, and body lotion (told me off because I don't use moisturiser ) .

Met her today and she gave me a huge bag (well, huge when you're in a wheelchair!) and I now have what seems to be posh spoo x 2, shower gel, hand soap, body lotion !! Pretty sure I don't smell - I think it's because she has a contact and felt sorry for me!! Even offered to sort washing for me if I need that ( I pretty much have enough clothes here now that I can pay for a proper wash every two weeks - a little hand washing occasionally is ok, not all the time!!) Soo so lovely of her

Anyway - she also put in a box of florentines! (for morale!!). I've only ever had one and that was homemade by one of my colleagues wife when we were all at Lyon.

However, I am often regaled of progress as my brother makes them and is honing his skills!! (Much to the appreciation of everyone they know and also my SDad, who normally doesn't eat that sort of thing!!).

Had to send a pic to my bro as, well, Damn - these are THIN !!! But very very tasty!!!
