Took the pups to the dog park, where I had to warn some kid EIGHT fucking times to step away from the female. She's a bit timid & doesn't like people being forceful trying to play with her. She growled the 3rd time & I still had to tell the kid another five goddamn times to leave her alone. Her mother just sat there flapping her gums with another woman & didn't notice, even though I was sitting about 8ft from her. I moved to the other end of the play area after the 4th time & the fucking kid still followed us.

And presumably the bathroom refurbishment will be completed in the same time scale as the Iran conflict? (i.e. nobody really knows at the moment?).

The new suite isn't delivered until Friday and some of the wall panels have to be exchanged as I ordered the wrong pattern.

I'll rip out the rest of the tiles and put down the lvt after work in the next couple of days.

Removed the bathroom suite, capped off all the pipes with valves, ripped up some rotten floorboards and replaced.

The floorboards required far too much time and swearing.

Oh yeah, the reason for the replacement boards, looks like the waste for the bath was a bit leaky...

I like the strategic saucepans...

They were from draining the radiator.

I’ve been seeing my mum for the weekend - should have biked up - the weather is lovely with just enough chill to remind you it’s spring.
I’m travelling back on the train and have been insuring my CBR…
All sorts of prices with quite high loading because I want commuting addded in - which wasn’t there last time.
I rang an few insurer and they quoted higher than the online quote I managed to get from the same firm
And at the end it was still Aviva who I’m insured through now.

Finished having the block paving drive titivated (it was jet washed last week and today he brushed a whole load of fine sand into it). Looks like new.

The chap also repointed a load of paving. (Partly because the jet washing removed a lot of the old pointing ).

Can't recommend this 'brush-in' pointing stuff. Better off with the old sand/cement and a few hours on hands and knees with a trowel (or a curved piece of the right diameter copper pipe).

Just had some twat ring the door bell after he ignored the sign, but he was too busy texting on his fucking phone when I opened the door to even acknowledge that the door opened.. He looked up from his phone after a few seconds, I said "too slow" & closed the door again.
Should have asked him for the $50.

Found out why Keswick became famous for making pencils.

(While thinking of odd destinations for a ride I came up with the Derwent Pencil Museum in Keswick. Actually that could be an add-on to the 'your bike with a....' thread.

'Your bike at a rather eccentric museum'.

(The Hunterian Museum would be a good one but parking could be limited in Lincoln's Inn Fields).

I'm going to put quite a few of the in teh clothes donation bin. I don't use them for whatever reason, hence buying replacements. Plus it amuses me that someone in the Congo or suchlike will be wearing my gloves!

I do 100KM a week on Zwift but as it's such a sunny day I dusted off the road bike & went for a spin on the local back lanes.



The roads are so bad that you can put the wheels in a lower part of the road & the pedal will hold the bike up,proper sump busters!



At least it keeps the boy racers with lowered cars out of the area...

Half term and the kids are in the garden which makes it difficult for me to work in the shed/office. Decided to go into our London office on the bike, lots of fun on the M25/M4. Turned out to be a glorious day.

After several years firefighting the damp in the basement apartment, I decided to have a proper go at it.
New tenants don't move in for 4 weeks so plenty of time to fix it. Got sick of paint flaking off, and plaster coming off in places.

Small bedroom was worst so chiseled off the plaster where the damp was obvious.
Now need to get someone in to have a go at fixing it.
I've a few builder mates who say they've never been able to fix the problem 100%, even in their own house.

Let's see what happens.

Solid wall construction I assume? Our bungalow is and we have damp coming through at times. I sealed the walls with a good few coats of PVA and its helped a lot. Mighty be worth a try...

Gave the GPz11 the benefit of some Collinite Insulator Wax* on various black bits (frame, brake torque arm, engine covers etc) & some red bits (tail, tank, side covers). The results are truly stunning.

Today's physio is on holiday from tomorrow, so she was extra mean to me today! So, very tired!!

Bit of confusion (lack of communication, not on my part ) about the clothes washing system here - I've been asking for info since I got here as hand wash is ok, but not ideal sorted eventually and I now have freshly washed and dried clothes

Then a friend from work came to see me. She's a challenge to understand as we don't see each other very often and she has a strong accent! But once I'd tuned in again, it was so awesome to chat with a friend, even in French!! Although, to be fair, I have had a few English visitors over the weekend, so am a bit happier. AND another colleague plans to come to visit tomorrow .


So I now have loads of clementines, some back up Pringles and Seb is bringing Oranges and Chocolate tomorrow

And my brother has posted what our family call a red cross parcel to me - it's a family joke about sending a red cross parcel; but he's actually packaged up this one to look like an old Red Cross parcel !!! Which he finds even more amusing cos the rehab centre is run by, The Red Cross
