Let's see the garage....weeksy wrote: Fri Apr 03, 2026 1:50 pm Well as we're all aware with house buying, nothing is ever 100% until its all done.
But if the cards fall right, in 8-12 weeks we should be moving home to this. Its all in the hands of solicitors now

No pics of it currently. Its a standard 1 vehicle garage. I seem to recall the loft is partially boardedZRX61 wrote: Fri Apr 03, 2026 3:53 pmLet's see the garage....weeksy wrote: Fri Apr 03, 2026 1:50 pm Well as we're all aware with house buying, nothing is ever 100% until its all done.

If not, it soon will be.
It'll get painted too, floor tiles down and filled with proper bikes

Thanks kids. The viewing on the balcony is pretty impressive too, its a big hill and we're near the top.
With the downside being, every time I ride home its uphill at the last part. But it'll get me fit for sure.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
I have progressed to being able to lie on my left side
Had tried a couple of times and it was too painful for the left knee but in physio she had me lie on my left side and it was ok. So I tried (at home pre break I sleep on my left side!) - and, I don't think I can sleep on the left just yet, but I can curl up and chill for a fair bit of time
This make me very very happy

That's about 3ft shorter than the F350 & not wide enough to open the door to get in/out of it
But I guess it's big enough for a few bikes

Still pretty giddy with excitement about how well the GPz11 is running, only took almost 4 months..

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
The red cross parcel from my brother arrived today - I asked for a pair of slipper sox and a puzzle book/sudoku
He sent me a ton of sox, a puzzle book and the cutest set of salt and pepper grinders!! (He's aware of the standard of hospital food, and even if this place is better, it lacks seasoning!!)
So -
I will only wear one sock at a time for a bit cos have a compression sock on the other foot!!

But I have soooooo many slipper sox

750ml water bottle for scale !! LOL. Soooooo cute!!!

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
My previous garage was around 7’6” wide so I could get a car in but it was very difficult to get out unless it was rammed up against the wall where the access door was located which made it moot.
I managed to get my Celica in a few times but had to add remote control to the electric windows as the longer doors (than a standard 4 door) and curved glass made it impossible to enter / exit the car without the windows being wound down which left the car accessible unless wound up. Most modern cars now come with comfort open / close.
I had the doorway reduced when I had some building works done as it was useless as a car garage but it was great for bikes. When I sold the place, the estate agent listed the garage on the listing with “limited access with the door width shown’ which didn’t stop someone asking whether the garage was suitable to use for running a business from for repair and servicing of cars
Current garage is 7.5m x 7.5m with a 6m roller shutter which alleviates any access issues for both cars

I have no requirement to have a car inside my garage. Or even motorbikes

I have no room to fit a car in my garage, it's full of motorbikes, tools, diving kit and a chest freezer.
My next door neighbour used to have a BMW 3 series convertible, he had to lower the roof and climb over the back seats to get out.

Yep, garages are for motorbikes, quad bikes, occasionally ride-on mowers, tools, not cars.
I can't think of a single person I know, no matter how big the garage, that actually has a car in it.
