Individuals are filing Ozempic lawsuits, claiming that the drug, semaglutide, can lead to severe gastroparesis, ileus, intestinal blockages, and other gastrointestinal issues. The lawsuits allege that the manufacturer, Novo Nordisk, failed to adequately warn patients of these side effects. The first lawsuit was filed on August 2, 2023, and the number of cases continues to grow.
OZEMPIC LAWSUIT OVERVIEW
People are filing Ozempic lawsuits after suffering from gastro-intestinal injuries, vision loss, and blood clots after taking the drug. Ozempic (semaglutide) is a GLP-1 drug approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to help treat patients with type 2 diabetes. Additionally, a well-publicized side effect of the weekly injection is that it may help people lose weight.
With increased use of the drug, concern has risen that prolonged use may lead to serious gastrointestinal injuries and other long-term issues. Our law firm is currently investigating Ozempic lawsuits involving a diagnosis of:
Stomach Paralysis/gastroparesis
Bowel Blockage/ileus
Blindness (NAION)/vision problems
Blood clots/deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE)
If you have been diagnosed with any of the above conditions, or have experienced severe and prolonged vomiting, please contact us right away for a free Ozempic lawsuit evaluation. Many people harmed by Ozempic have joined the multidistrict litigation against Novo Nordisk and other GLP-1 manufacturers. This group lawsuit, called MDL 3094 In Re: Glucagon-like Peptide-1 Receptor Agonists (GLP-1 RAS) Products Liability Litigation, is an active litigation. People can still file their Ozempic lawsuit as part of this group.
OZEMPIC LAWSUIT – 2025 UPDATE
AUGUST 1, 2025: STUDY FINDS THAT OZEMPIC MAY CAUSE HAIR LOSS, ESPECIALLY IN WOMEN
A preliminary study suggests that Ozempic may increase the risk of hair loss in some patients. This is yet another undesirable side effect of Ozempic. The study’s authors examined over 3,000 participants, none of whom had diabetes or were taking medication to lower their blood sugar. The Ozempic group had a significantly higher rate of hair loss compared to the non-semaglutide group. Men taking Ozempic had a 52 percent higher hair loss rate, while the rate for women taking Ozempic was double that of women in the non-Ozempic group. Ozempic is causing hundreds to experience a wide range of complications, and many have filed lawsuits because of those side effects.

Drugs have side effects? I'm shocked to the core.
How about you do more due diligence than believing all the hype?
Oh, and eat less, move more. It's very simple like that. You might also consider why you don't and do something about that too.

Nice one, thanks for that. I've bought a 3 month trail kit for £84 and will evaluate it at the end. If its working with minimal side-effects I may continue? All this assumes i actually get it, as its in review due to possible clash with a diuretic I take.Count Steer wrote: Fri Mar 20, 2026 11:50 am Anyone paying for it themselves might be wise to hang on a while....

Re: Ozempic and suchlike...know anybody on 'em?
Over here you start with a 1/4 dose (0.25mg) for three weeks, then a half dose for three weeks, then the full 1mg dose. Theory is the 1/4 dose doesn't do anything but check for reactions/allergies etc... However, the 1/4 dose worked on my blood sugar that first week & I stayed on the 1/2 dose for ages (at least a year) as it was working. Just upped to full dose last month.Taipan wrote: Fri Mar 20, 2026 11:55 am Nice one, thanks for that. I've bought a 3 month trail kit for £84 and will evaluate it at the end. With that said, apparently the weight loss dose is at least 2.5mg/week.

I guess people wonder why it'll be out of patent so soon but the FDA approved it for blood glucose control as far back as 2017 so it's heading for 10 years general use in what it was approved for.

Re: Ozempic and suchlike...know anybody on 'em?
We're on Voy (Wegovy/semaglutide) which starts on the lower .0.25mg and increases in dosage (and expensive) each month, but we want to keep the dosage lower if its working. As you say, the lower dosage is to check for side effects etc, but I feel its affected me already. I hardly drunk over the weekend as I just didn't fancy a drink (very unusual as I love the grape) and only ate when prompted.ZRX61 wrote: Fri Mar 20, 2026 9:05 pmOver here you start with a 1/4 dose (0.25mg) for three weeks, then a half dose for three weeks, then the full 1mg dose. I'm 5'9" / 1.75m and weigh in at c. 76kg or 12 stone-ish.Taipan wrote: Mon Mar 30, 2026 10:10 am But if the Voy took away my desire to drink then I suppose it has helped already?
Mrs. G keeps me on the straight and narrow when it comes to food nutrition (high protein & fibre, low carb and fat) and I usually train 6 times a week (mix of cross training, weights and yoga).
Why do I still have a bit of a beer belly..? I think we all know the answer..

Be interesting if they do a study on microdosing and drinking impactTaipan wrote: Mon Mar 30, 2026 10:10 am The app prompted me to weigh myself and I've lost just under half a stone, but i think that's just because I didn't guzzle wine and snack because of it, which bloats me. Yeah, we don't eat a lot of crap and very rarely have takeaways etc. I know full well my weight comes from guzzling red wine and the subsequent munchies! But I have facet arthropathy and bronchiectasis so exercise is near impossible. I'm hoping the diet drugs will help with weight loss, so exercise does become possible? I'm pretty desperate if the truth be told.gremlin wrote: Mon Mar 30, 2026 10:48 amI'm 5'9" / 1.75m and weigh in at c. 76kg or 12 stone-ish.Taipan wrote: Mon Mar 30, 2026 10:10 am But if the Voy took away my desire to drink then I suppose it has helped already?

Re: Ozempic and suchlike...know anybody on 'em?
My wife’s on Mounjaro prescribed because of her type 2 diabetes.
She’s not losing weight and is making her pretty sick. There’s quite a large percentage of diabetics where no weight loss occurs.
If it wasn’t on prescription I.e free then she wouldn’t take it. The side effects are unpleasant and simply watching what you eat is just as good.
We do however know quite a few people who have lost a significant amount of weight by using it.

Only guy I know that used Oz has regular Indigestion after 6 months of taking it, hes convinced its from Oz.
I used to weigh 47st but now down to around 25-27st, was offered gastric band 3 times but declined and never used
Oz or any such kind of thing. I think losing weight is mostly down to frame of mind and making the changes needed to do it.

Re: Ozempic and suchlike...know anybody on 'em?
All seems to be going rather swimmingly for me at the moment. No more puffy feet and ankles. Blood pressure lowered enough to require a cut from 10mg to 5mg on my Amlodipine. Reducing my weight has taken a lot of pressure off my arthritic spine, and I can walk much farther now. I've also just smashed my 2 stone weight loss goal, but I will continue with it, and add a new weight loss goal.
I have had minimal side effects, and they are lessening now, even with the dose increasing. All I got was an occasional sense of nausea and, of course, constipation, but that really goes with the territory.
I have changed my diet as well, and eat a low carb diet where possible, and I think that has contributed to the success as well. But I'm happy to make exceptions for occasions, and scoff or drink whatever, and pretty much abandoned the diet when in the West Country the other week.
So diet changes and the Wegovy have brought about enough weight loss to bring me out of near constant pain, and enabled me to actually start exercising again. So I'm sticking with the Wegovy for now, and want to lose another stone or 2, then I'll reduce it to a maintenance dose and then withdraw from it completely, at least that's the plan.
Overall, I'd say this has been literally, life changing for me. I was very much against these drugs, but dieting alone just didn't work for me, but the Wegovy gave me the kick start I needed, and I'm very pleased that I decided to give it a go. YMMV as those Americans say...
