Re: A right now thread
Off to bed for a snooze before nights this week.
"Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"
"My dear Doctor, they're all true."
"Even the lies?"
"Especially the lies."

Re: A right now thread
Sitting at the kitchen table (I have a kitchen table!!) questioning my life choices!!!
Two days off this week and desperate for some down time cos I am very tired (always this way after feb hols). But they asked if I could do a couple of hours this morning and because i have four days off next week as a mate is here, I said yes
Right now, having put all my ski stuff in the car cos I'm skiing in a different resort later for the first time (and first tme skiing with the friend over there), I am really questioning saying yes!!
- not helped by meeting some mates in resort last night and getting home, not exactly late, but later than normal for me when getting up at 5am!!
Oh well - we only live once, right??

Having a butty in the cafe on the roundabout, just above the mudguard.
Usually go up to the towers on top of the mountain, but not got time today
It's 90 mins home from here

Waiting for a Calmac ferry. Possibly the last time I will do this. I'm going to miss island life.

I heard if you pluck them, it's a lot more painful and can be eye-wateringly so. I thought I'd try it anyway, but by the way my wife screamed when I did it, they're probably right!gremlin wrote: Sun Mar 22, 2026 4:55 pm Plucking up the courage to rid myself of nasal hairs.

Re: A right now thread
That reminds me. Today I found out they're currently filming the new Peaky Blinders at our neighbours' place (a stately home - https://patshullhall.co.uk/ - they're filming in the outside courtyard and the inside ballroom).
The hall itself is spilt in two - half owned by our friends, half owned by a pair of reputed arseholes. The arseholes own the entrance/entrance road, and let it out as a location without telling our friends.
Who subsequently were asked to approve and paid a 'residents' fee, which they did, as did a few other people who live in the mews.
Wish we'd had this conversation sooner, we could have gone up and watched out of their windows!
Coming out next year apparently. I should watch it to catch up
(Our friends' half is for sale if anybody fancies it - personally I reckon it's a lot of money for a semi detached

Re: A right now thread
So far today I have mainly been driving a Q4 e-Tron.
It's quite a nice place to sit. I do like German car ergos too. All controls feel
3.1m/kW so far.
'Tis a big lump of a thing (purely subjective but it feels bigger/wider than the Ford Ranger!
) but I'm quite impressed with it. Sort of feel that if you're going to drive a barge in the UK you may as well go all in and get a Q7 or Q8 though.

The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.
