I've got quite a few knives but have never carried one. I was super pleased when I found my Dads trusty old penknife recently, but now its disappeared into the shed-of-plenty and i cant find it again.

2/10 odds on it getting lost in shed-of-plenty though...

NOs 2-5 dont lock but the one above do.Buckaroo wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2026 10:27 pmMine absolutely does not rotate. It's riveted on the metal collar.Rockburner wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2026 9:06 pmYou're aware the metal collar rotates to lock the blade... Yes?Buckaroo wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2026 7:16 pm
My daughter bought me the same knife. Just be careful, as it closes very easily. Cut fingers are not quite what you need.
@Noggin , while you're in hospital practice opening the blade and rotating the collar to lock it until it becomes a natural action, might prevent little accidents.....![]()

I liked the personalisation that Nogs had on her knife and found the stockists offer that here too. So I've ordered a personalised one for myself, my son and step f-i-l.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
I don't know why they call those knives 'zombie knives'.
They should call them 'silly boy knives' because that's who inevitably waves them around. I think if a hard cunt without a knife fronted them up, they'd shit themselves.

Segway into the 'manosphere' documentary on Netflix. What a bunch of retards. I truly worry about the world we live in. They'd definitely need a nappy change if they met a proper man and watch out boys if you run into a real woman !!MyLittleStudPony wrote: Mon Mar 16, 2026 8:42 pm I don't know why they call those knives 'zombie knives'.

Watching that was a bit cringey as they all opened themselves up to reveal their raging idiocy and hypocrisy (HSTikkyTokky:'I'm not homophobic' LT: 'You said if your son was gay you'd disown him'Buckaroo wrote: Mon Mar 16, 2026 10:21 pmSegway into the 'manosphere' documentary on Netflix. Working on a building site. I don't carry one at weekends unless I put on my work clothes.gremlin wrote: Mon Mar 16, 2026 11:24 am Just out of curiosity, what are you doing day in and day out that necessitates the need to have a knife about your person?
At the ripe ol' age of 56 I've never felt that I've been in a situation where the whipping out of a blade from its belt-worn sheath would have saved the day...

Snowboarding.
I've unusually had to work fairly hard these last 6 weeks and have hardly been out at all. But now all the guests have gone home and I have a week to myself.
Here's a few pics from yesterday
I had to stop mid run to take a phonecall for work. Not a terrible place to sit (I'm directly below a pylon, so not causing an obstruction, and you can see how quiet the slopes are!!)

Pictures don't even nearly justify how beautiful this place is and the amazing uplifting feeling I get from being here and thrashing around.
Life's good, life's REALLY effing good

The boy got a Distinction+ in his Sports Science overall course and exams. So that course is all now complete.
He's still got Psychology and Tech A levels to complete in the next few weeks/months

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
We looked after someones dog for five or so weeks a few years ago as they were having a pretty hard time, last week my daughter saw the dog twice and apart from being a bit of a puddin the little guy is fit and healthy and the owner is doing ok as well.
With luck I'll see the dog as they live fairly close now.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
My youngest niece got married last year.
She's just revealed that she is pregnant.
With twins.
They are soooo fucked.
Both over the moon, as are we for them.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
I was out on a mini-tour/explore on the MTB on Sat for 3-4 hours. Plan was to find a few places and work out where villages and hills are in relation to eachother over by where we're (hopefully) moving house to. Over by where we live currently i know pretty much every track, trail, path, byway within a 10+ mile radius. I've been living and riding here for 20 years and have explored everywhere.. I know if i go towards village A there's a track to village B and that will end somewhere i know..
Over by our new place, i know absolutely NOTHING lol. There's villages and locations i've still not even remotely worked out where they are in relation to eachother and how to piece any rides together between the 2 is a complete mystery to me at the moment
I stopped a couple of random people out in the fields/tracks with "excuse me, are you local" to get more information as to where things are, what's happening locally, where to go for food.... I'm sure they thought i was a complete nutter, but they chatted away merrily for 10 mins or more and i got a lot of information.
It's a bloody lovely part of the world that's for sure, i absolutely love it... but bugger me, it's HILLY !!!! I'm either going to get fitter, or die in the first 12 months !!!! It remains to be seen which
