3 busy nights on the trot and crappy sleep during the days so hopefully it’s quiet tonight.

So mostly it’s been intermittent sleep and a trudge over the Downs with the dogs today.

Had a meeting cancelled, so had to wait around for the other Diocesan people to come, and they were early, so that was nice. Took them around the "other vicarage" and handed over the keys with joy! Collected the car after visiting a parishioner. Then home to do lunch for daughter. Sorted the bikes speedo drive out, my son sat on the back to keep the wheel in the air. Also changed out the coolant. Now for a cup of tea and a break. Wrote my Mothering Sunday Sermon last night, must read it again. Collect the wife later on and then do the shopping.

Have a good weekend all, with honour to mothers and those who still mother us regardless of relationship.

Transferred my half marathon entry for Newcastle Town Moor at the end of March to the Middlesbrough half at the beginning of March next year. I’ve got 3-4 weeks to improve or not before I need a medical report to be eligible to transfer my Sunderland half in May to next year.

The ‘plan’ to get a couple of events under my belt before the Great North Run in September is going sideways at the moment.

In related news, my PT has modified ‘leg day’ it include a modern torture device known as the hip thrust machine and weighted walking lunges so I currently cannot sit comfortably :wtf:

Today is that World Triathlon Cup here in our town.
Most roads are closed so this morning's walk was surreal.
Then as I walked into town along the beach, the amateur race was just transitioning from swim to cycle.

So I walked along the cycle route in reverse on way home. We're inside the cycle loop and they've allowed some vehicle movements between races.

Some pics of the road out of town to our place :)

Looking at Yorick’s pics reminded me,

A shark can swim faster than me, but I can run faster than a shark.

So in a triathlon, it would all come down to who is the better cyclist.

Been to a record fair (unusually didn't buy anything) and laid 13 of 45 slabs that make the path between my workshop and the house.

First ever “awake” operation!! Actually really interesting whilst very bizarre 🤣🤣

Really odd absolutely being sure your leg is flat in the table then having it pointed out that the surgeon has lifted your foot up very high!! I could see where my leg actually was but it still felt like it was flat on the table 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Enjoyed the Elite Men's race started at 6:00.
I've been involved in loads of these races but never seen such a big bunch at head of cycle event.
The Spaniard in last pic won in a sprint finish followed by "Y Viva Espana" on the P.A. at full volume :D

Nice, had the left hip replaced 10 years ago, epidural in base of spin and lay there chatting with the anesthetist. They put a blanket up so i couldn't watch, knew when they were hacksawing through the leg bone though:P
