FC-Moto

Post by KungFooBob »

Anyone bought owt from FC-Moto since Brexit?

I fancy a Beeline Moto 2 and they've got them for £149 (compared to the UK price of £180) and I've got a code to get 10% off (sign up for the newsletter).

I've had to add a tin of chain lube to get the total over £140 MOQ, so inc delivery £153.66

Almost £30 cheaper than buying in the UK.

Am I likely to get hit for any duty on top of that?

Probably, I did buying summot from abroad and sellers don't always make that clear. Free delivery and total bill etc, then you get a suprise as the courier has to pay to get goods released from customs, but won't delivery until you pay them.

That was it in my case, had to pay it.

I was going to buy the OG one 2nd hand, they're going for £75 on Friendface Marketplace, but the II seems to be significantly better. Why don't you want it?

Yes, some Daytona boots, ended up costing more than they would have from a UK seller

I've got a nice smartphone mount that fits in the satnag cradle on my Beemer (and I've got a TomTom 400). The last ride out on my Gold Star I took a wrong turn or two, but it's not the type of bike you'd put a phone mount on or a big nav unit, the Beeline II looks quite neat. I've downloaded the app and had a play and like the routes it suggests.

It's a bit shit. I can see why people with a retro bike would go for one, they suit them perfectly, it's just the user experience is a bit rubbish. I'll write more tomorrow, but it's late and I'm tired.
