Re: What have you done today thread?
Yesterday...tried the 111 service for the first time. It's definitely not AI.
However it did direct me to a Sunday facility where they could write prescriptions* and direct me to somewhere I could use it to get what I needed. The Doc I saw was more informative than the ones I've seen locally (the best there over recent years have been a practice nurse, a paramedic and a trainee doctor).
* Antibiotics....again. My poor old, carefully curated gut biome gets another caning.

The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Took the CBR for a run out through Epping Forest and home - fired up no problem.
But blast and dammit - moving the NC to clean it discovered a screw though the front tyre -
I’ve bought some of those screw in things as it not holding any air at all - off to my local railway arch bike shop in Wednesday to get it fixed.
Currently on the Elizabeth line to T3 - missus gets back today - luckily her flight is routed via the pole so only an hour delay presumably for delayed connections.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Was in Trader Joes this afternoon when I hear "Julian, where are you?" from an unmistakably Brit accent coming from the next aisle
Man-bun hipster right in front of me replies "Over here my sweetest Samantha" in the most exaggerated upper class Hooray Henry accent I've ever heard in my life
& turned around to see me choking back a laugh
Surprised he didn't call me a cad, rogue & a bounder.

She has my sympathies. I spent a month in Abu Dhabi one weekend.
God, it was fucking dull.

Ollie Ollerton (of 'SAS Who Dares Wins' fame) bought his favourite motorcycle inside incase of falling debris, I couldn't get my Porsche Turbo through the doors but it's in the garage so it should be ok
Called another of our friends of a similar background and he was eating oysters in town and videoing the missiles coming in with his other hand.
We had a BBQ, we are British, so it was rather like this...

Re: What have you done today thread?
I visited briefly on day. Unimpressed!! And I know Dubai can be fun - less so for a single, shy 30ish girl!! I'll go back one day, but definitely not alone

Re: What have you done today thread?
Interviewing the last 2 days for a new member of my team. Narrowed down 20 applicants to 6 for Interview - 5 with experience and 1 wildcard.
Today, the wildcard blew the 5 experienced guys out of the water - he'll be getting an offer shortly, congrats to the RAF for developing this guy over the last 25 years.
