I've not sterilised anything since the young un was being bottle fed some 23+ years ago.

Water bottle gets used 5 days a week and is washed once a week, although I do have to admit to ditching a camelback system as it was a ball ache to wash & dry

I don't go wild with sterilising the water bottles! It's handwashing generally but one of them is a stainless steel job with a narrow neck so, if I happen to be doing other things like unstaining white China mugs it'll get slooshed too.

I've had a camel backpack thingy for carrying water when on enduro ride
Had it 8 years.
Just empty it before each ride and refill with ice and water.
No problems.

Having a bad day, I suppose yesterday was worse but today is mostly on my own and knackered after bad news yesterday

About 9am yesterday I got a text from an old friend letting me know that my first ever riding buddy had died on Friday - pancreatic cancer. He's younger than me, can't remember how old, but age never has been a definition of friendship, I can't even remember how we met but he went to the same school as me although not the same year! I think we met through people in the pub, found out we both rode bikes and started riding together a bit.

Just gutted. Then I had to drive to GVA and back - whilst trying not to cry  (didn't think a sobbing driver would be a good look!).

He wasn't as nuts as me - more artistic than adrenaline fuelled!! His art was stunning. His wife is lovely and she and their two boys were some of the few that came to visit me after the shoulder accident - I think the boys came because I was staying with a friend that had three Huskis

I moved here and they moved to Mexico so we've not seen each other since although I've kept in touch with Debs (Ant was never massive on comms!!). Swapped some messages with her last night (after she messaged me, I didn't go hassling her!), and she has a good group of friends over there to support here. Next thing will be FB, when she's ready to announce it, but that will be hard to see in black and white! I'm only sharing here cos I need to share in English and no one here to do that with :(

Just gutted. Then I had to drive to GVA and back for the rest of yesterday - whilst trying not to cry  (didn't think a sobbing driver would be a good look!).

Worked out last night at the end of the shift that I did 51 hours last week - not even close to all driving but also not all on the tacho, that would be wildly illegal  (think the last few weeks have been similar).

Probably why today feels proper shit - 2 hours work this morning, someone I saw at the airport yesterday has told a few people at work about my friend, and whilst it's kinda nice, everytime someone is nice to me it makes me cry! Although I suppose this kind of news isn't easy to manage even if yr not knackered?

Not sure if that's better than sitting at home not managing my emotions very well  It's when living alone is not good, really need a hug but hey ho!

Life seriously sucks at times and cancer is a shitty bastard :angry-cussingblack:

And just cos - spamming you with some of his art

Camelbak /hydration pack gets flushed with hot water after use , emptied and then stored in the freezer.

I'd be more concerned about repeated use of a plastic water container, than stressing about sterilisation. Probably low risk from either.

Noticed on the dog walk this morning that the daffs are starting to flower, seems early to me, but then I noticed the bluebells and crocuses are all coming up in the garden too. Could it be spring? Could I be bringing the Ducati out of hibernation soon...

Anyway, it spurred me into going to the garden centre at lunchtime. Chilli seeds are now in the propagator, garlic is in the troughs, and I potted out some lavender and heather. Filled up the bird feeders too... and then it started raining.

Some years ago I learned the Italian word for snowdrop, as in the flower, when I stayed in a hotel of that name: bucaneve. It means to pierce the snow, bucare to pierce and neve, snow.

Int that lovely? :)

Realised I'd left my work phone, sign on card, PIN fob, etc. on my desk at home. Basically everything I need to do my job.

FFS. What a waste of time and money.
Found out this morning that I'd left my access card in my office laptop, meaning I had to faff getting a temp password for my home laptop.

In itself not a disaster, even though I was too late to join the 9am meeting I had in the diary, but it has got me thinking....

Second time I've forgotten work stuff in as many weeks.

I've noticed that I struggle to remember things I really should know, such as the names of long-standing colleagues.

My musical recall of songs, singers, etc used to get me dragged into quiz nights regularly. I find myself forgetting songs and singers that I know I know.

Mrs. Gremlin has pointed out a few times recently that my hands are really shaking. I look at them and they are. I didn't notice and can't stop it.

I'm now starting to think I should get this checked out...

My memories crap as Mrs D reminds me regularly. But, afaiac my memories always be crap.

I reckon short term memory loss is quite normal and bollox to the experts 🤯

I can remember 'big deals' in my life, like falling off my bike when I was 4yo. 👍🏻

Today I've been in the Brum office playing with Cursor (AI tool). Which is pretty bloody impressive.

Now I'm sitting in Brum airport waiting to fly to Belfast, to make a change from Dublin 😆

Been like a loony all week. Had some expensive shiny floor paint left over, so finished off the garage floor.
I love my garage and seeing these 2 every day makes me smile 😃

Went out on the bike for the first time this year. New tyre, disk and bearings on the spare wheel so swapped them over and had an hour before dark. Never even washed all the ACF50 off, just the essential areas. Anyway it was enjoyable but upon return i noticed the HT cap was arcing bad at the bottom of pot three and four now and then. Is ACF50 conductive? as this may explain things. Bike has not seen rain sitting on the shed so doubt the plug recess drain holes are blocked and water is still sitting in them.

Dropped off the male pupster at the vet this AM for his bollockectomy. He was fine until it was time to go into the exam room.. apparently he remembers his last visit here where a tech removed a rock from his exhaust by hooking it with her finger.

Just picked him up & he's in the Cone Of Shame... for 10 to 14 days according to the Vet. I'm thinking it will be less than 10 days.

Trivia night at the local brewery. 16 teams of up to 6, there were 3 of us, we kicked ass to come 2nd with 45/48. We missed 2 questions that we should have got. Bugger...

Got a $20 token which will be spent on their great pizza next Wednesday.
