Got a few plans this year where it has the potential to be very very useful indeed.
I've gone for lower power lower weight and Bosch motor. Although I'll probably add in the range extender for big days out.

Its the Mondraker Sly.

I could but id never use itogri wrote: Sat Feb 21, 2026 11:16 am Nice bike, could get one with a petrol engine for that sort of dosh, probably not a new one though![]()
It's OK mate thanks. My mate is a Mondy dealer and has seen me right on it.mboy wrote: Sat Feb 21, 2026 5:47 pm Great bike... If, however you haven't physically ordered it yet, give me a shout... May be able to help you out there...
19.5kg and 400whLe_Fromage_Grande wrote: Sun Feb 22, 2026 8:58 am How much does it weigh, what size battery does it have?
Well even bikes without motors are 15-16kg so there's a finite limit you can reach unless going crazy with budget.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: Sun Feb 22, 2026 1:26 pm 400wh would do me, mine is 500, but the rides I do generally only use 50% of it, but it doesn't sound like the weight saving of having a smaller battery is that much, I think my hard tail eBike weighs about 21kg and it's built like a tank.
Was about to order a range extender for mine the other week... I've got a couple of events planned I wanted to do on the lighter eBike, but would need bigger battery for... Then realised I've got 3 friends with the range extender, and they rarely ever use them themselves, so I'm sure I would be able to borrow one for a couple of days when needed...weeksy wrote: Sun Feb 22, 2026 10:33 am19.5kg and 400whLe_Fromage_Grande wrote: Sun Feb 22, 2026 8:58 am How much does it weigh, what size battery does it have?
I've ordered a 250 extender too for bigger days
The 400Wh Bosch battery is 2kg... Not sure how heavy your 500Wh would be, but suspect it's using older cells... I know the latest 800Wh is 3.9kg but the 750Wh it replaced was 4.4kg, suspect your 500 is probably around 3kg...Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: Sun Feb 22, 2026 1:26 pm 400wh would do me, mine is 500, but the rides I do generally only use 50% of it, but it doesn't sound like the weight saving of having a smaller battery is that much, I think my hard tail eBike weighs about 21kg and it's built like a tank.
I didn't realise they could be so light.weeksy wrote: Sun Feb 22, 2026 10:33 am19.5kg and 400whLe_Fromage_Grande wrote: Sun Feb 22, 2026 8:58 am How much does it weigh, what size battery does it have?

Oh there's lighter ones now, like the Amflow, but at a higher cost of course than this.MyLittleStudPony wrote: Tue Feb 24, 2026 9:44 pmI didn't realise they could be so light.weeksy wrote: Sun Feb 22, 2026 10:33 am19.5kg and 400whLe_Fromage_Grande wrote: Sun Feb 22, 2026 8:58 am How much does it weigh, what size battery does it have?
