Yeah, i'm a no on that one in truth mate. That's going to turn into a shit-show within minutes. I'd love to think otherwise, but we all know exactly how it would go and how quickly that would happen

Re: Closed threads in politics
Maybe have a "politics discussion day", say Wednesdays for 24 hrs. That way anyone interested get to dicuss/shout about stuff but it doesn't go on day after day and they'll have to wait a week to pick it up. Just a thought.

Re: Closed threads in politics
You can see in just a couple of days how much nicer a feel this place has, a lack of arguments, spiteful comments, bitching and complete insanity. It's a whole world of a nicer place.David wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 4:41 pmYou do seem very decided about that...fairynuff.weeksy wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 1:47 pmThanksDodgy69 wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 1:36 pm Maybe have a "politics discussion day", say Wednesdays for 24 hrs. There's nothing i'm seeing on here that's making me think i should bring the politics discussions back.

I have to say I agree, there's nothing positive about bringing it back, a total headache for you.

Re: Closed threads in politics
The forum has instantly become a nicer place to be and it's rediscovered its raison d'etre - people chatting about motorbikes in a friendly fashion. Top work.

I'm loving it & the timing couldn't have been more perfectCousin Jack wrote: Sun Feb 01, 2026 3:52 pm Has the boss over reacted?
I can live with closing for a bit, locking the Trump thread and encouraging people to play nicely, but banning ALL politics and current affairs is IMO a tad OTT.
It will make for a very quiet life.

Re: Closed threads in politics
One of the aircraft mech groups on FB has one solitary thread every Wednesday where anyone can post anything they want.. but the rules are no one can reply to anyone else's comment. IIRC it gets deleted at midnight.Dodgy69 wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 1:36 pm Maybe have a "politics discussion day", say Wednesdays for 24 hrs. Re: Closed threads in politics
Turns out there's no option under the "report post" drop down menu to report political posts...
