Track day: front brake lever protector

Okay, you bunch are far more familiar with scraping knee sliders and the number of amp hours tyre warmer need than I am...
I am going to do a track day next year (June) - it’s with MSV - so I need a front brake lever protector.

I can buy a Rizoma one for bout 150 quid, or something that comes from China that costs 10.00 GBP - plus various stuff in between.
Any recommendations - do they all do the same job , or will the Chines tatt kill me... ( it won’t be staying on the bike - on needed for track days),

I'd use the cheapest, just make sure when you tighten it up it doesn't interfere with the throttle closing.

I've got a pair from China for £8, they'll keep the scrutineer happy, which is all I want.

TBH I don't care what shape they are, I'm only fitting one because I have to, so long as it doesn't hit the fairing on full lock I'm happy.
The bike is track only, so it doesn't matter what it looks like.

I was thinking more of it being obtrusive when moving hands, braking, blipping rather than how it does or doesn't look

I had a cheap Chinese one and it started unscrewing itself at Redgate, span like a windmill for most of the lap and then fell off at Melbourne Loop. I can't tell you how off-putting it is for getting a good lap!

I've ridden with wrap around hand guards for many years , alloy brace type with plastic deflectors and all plastic types and in general use I cant say I've noticed anything obtrusive or restricting about them.

I cant see a front brake lever guard being any different for me.

I went with GB Racing. If I'm gonna have to faff getting the trailer tie down traps on and off because of it then I want it to work and not just be for show to pass scrutineering.

Yeah we don't use the bars on any of the van/trailer options, i've never got on with the bar straps, pillion pegs for us. So not a factor.

This, I've used them on dirt bikes for over 20 years and never found them obtrusive

Same happened to my missus, albeit not on track. Still equally distracting on the A2 mind.
