NBT I've just bought my forever bike part4 , The Final Edition!

Post by Taipan »

All roads lead me to the latest model NC750X! Much easier for me to get on and off and I'm familiar with them, and of course it has the DCT . They are a heavy bike but carry their weight very low so feel much lighter than they actually are. There has been quite a big upgrade to the spec on this model, DCT improved, TFT screen, twin discs etc but sadly no cruise control. Rumoured to be on the next model release, but as much as i love CC, i aint wiaiting for it.

I shopped around most of the country trying to find the latest model, pre registered or ex-demo, withe the comfort pack fitted, but whilst many advertise them, they don't actually have them in stock and they have to be ordered. Anyway, my local dealer did have a brand new one in stock, in the colour I wanted, but no comfort pack fitted. Turns out you can have a dealer fit the comfort pack, which is obviously more expensive than ordering one in with it, but still a lot cheaper than buying the parts separately and having them fitted, but the lead time killed that. A deal was struck which worked for both of us, and the comfort pack and centre stand is ordered and will be fitted, but not necessarily in one go, as I need a bike asap and they are happy to work with me on a staggered installation. No idea on delivery date yet, but hopefully within a fortnight?

I did wonder if it was going to be the NC? HNBD when it arrives. The new DCT is great, I've been VERY pleasantly surprised by mine on the xadv.

Ooh, the black and the green are Durabio resin. How exciting.

S'funny, but thats the one colour I wouldn't have. I wanted red or black or would have considered a white.

I think its just the green and black colours that are not actually painted plastics but manufactured in that colour.
Honda wrote:Application of Bio-Engineering Plastics to Products (Circular Design)
As part of our efforts to expand the use of the bio-engineering plastic “DURABIOTM”*2, we applied it to the colored exterior parts of the NC series sold in 2024, marking the first such application in motorcycles.

By using colored DURABIOTM with high aesthetic quality, painting becomes unnecessary, contributing to CO₂ reduction.

Additionally, following the world’s first*3 adoption of DURABIO for the transparent front screen of the CRF1100L Africa Twin, launched in March 2024, we expanded its application to the X-ADV (launched in Europe in September 2024), as well as the NC750X and XL750 TRANSALP, with plans to apply it to other models in the future.

DURABIOTM is a registeredtrademark of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation.
Based on Honda’s research (as of October 2023).

How long before you decide it's a bit dull and you don't like riding it?

If the comfort seat is like the CB1000R comfort seat don't expect a massive improvement, the Honda heated grips are good.

I quite like the khaki green as well. But when I ask for a render of the 'Matte deep Mud Grey' colour option this is what I get; a bike clearly designed for the Invisible Man...

It's a clip-on fairing for a monkey bike!
