I came out of work last night to find the back tyre was flat and slime sprayed all over the inner mudguard. This was at 5 o'clock and I finally got home at 8:30!

So I've taken the wheel off this morning and there is nothing new in the tyre? So I can only assume the patch leaked and now the slime has done its job? I now have a new tube so will bung that in and thoroughly check the tyre inside for something, although I did that last time.

I've kinda got it. A free SH300, but I have to register it for a CoC to ride it in London and then tax and insure a second bike, so I really can't get enthused as I really, really, really like the AT and don't want to stop riding it for anything else, even though the SH300 is a superb winter hack!

I ended up putting a new tube in and went to work. I got to work only to find I had another flat tyre! I couldn't get recovery as there were farmers in their tractors all over London, and the place was gridlocked! So I had to leave the bike at work and get a train home and I came back the next day with my trusty makita 18v pump. I pumped the tyre up on my way in and went down an hour later to find it had lost about half its pressure. So i headed home with the intention of stopping half way to top it back up again and the plan worked.

There is clearly something in the tyre that i cant find, so I bit the bullet and got another tyre and yet another inner tube! All is okay now...

The bike went into the ever helpful Belle Vue M/Cycles in Southend for its new TFT screen under Honda's ten-year extended warranty today. All done, nothing to pay etc. I did have a bill though, as I got them to fit my centre stand whilst they had it in there, as I CBA laying on the floor getting creative with spring pulling techniques! So now i have a working screen and centre stand!

Lying on the ground. tsk.

Laying is what chickens do. Floors are inside. Ground is outside. :P

Well, you're half right, but the bike was in my front room when I tried to get the springs on! :D

She wont be happy when it comes in for me to fit the heated grips, but she wants new flooring, so will use it as an angle to get it. Quid Pro Quo... :D

Full brake pads renewal today. Well, I did the back pads (EBC) the other day, but it's a change to organic pads all round. This wasnt easy as Honda and most pad manufacturers only make sintered pads for the AT front brakes. Some of the AT guys (mostly euro riders) use Newfren pads, who really made their name in karts and scooters but have now spread to the other bike markets. Mixed reviews, but those that use/prefer organic pads like them, so I thought i'd give them a try.

I fitted the shims from the OEM pads to the Newfrens as, like EBCs, they don't come with them. Not sure I should have, or needed to have done so, but they fitted the Newfren pads the same as they fit the OEMs, so if its good enough for Honda?

No road test as we have visitors en route, but a helmetless ride up and down my street tells me the fitment is good, with no clicks or rattles, and no binding, etc. I'll give them a road test in the next day or two, but the proof of the pudding will be seeing how they are on my commute next week...
